The Classifieds

It has been one insane last month. We attended NYCC then set up at Toy Fair one week after that. Got to finally meet some of you guys in person (Roy, Nate, Ray, Chris, Phil and Con just to name a few)! Saw all our New York friends and family and had some funny adventures in that amazing city. After a week of catching up we are ready to start on the road to SDCC this summer. To get things kicked off for March the store (remember to refresh) will be getting the mysterious Wave 5 of Pheyden and Exellis in individual and set options. The Craywave special is also back as well. Thanks to all of you, Buildman sold well (and out) with new colors on the horizon. The Phase Arm/Gobon Blasters are very close to shipping. Some more Sucklord crossover action is also on deck as well as a collaboration with the painting genius that is Matt Walker of Dead Presidents. Been thinking about doing a special run of hand cast Govurom heads using the new chest (with the extra hole in the back) and custom parts. Maybe a Warp Zone thing. Speaking of Warp Zones, our resident 8-bit artist and Passcode programming machine, Marcus, has whipped up another challenge over to your right. Who is that big Armodoc guy? And where the hell is Gobon? Soon the assortment will be complete. On one final note I wanted to personally thank the infamous Doctor Kent for putting together the Fans Of Pheyden blog. It is beyond humbling to see the amount of effort that the Doc has put into his collection and his archiving of the Glyos line. John, you are an actual mad scientist and I love your take on the figures and their worlds. And finally, a gigantic thanks goes out to all you guys that keep this engine rolling with your awesome support, you all allow us the chance to continue following this path.

  7. It was awesome to catch you guys in person -- can't wait for another opportunity.

By the way -- consider this a vote for a Govurom run. Every custom head is a chance to make a new character out of an old figure, and unfortunately not all of us (i.e., me) are good enough at sculpting to pull it off on our own. Hell, maybe there could even be a contest or something for a new sculpt...

  9. It was nice to meet you at the show, Matt. I hope the review that I posted, and the mention on the company blog, drove some traffic (and sales!) your way.

  10. Love the new Passcode section. But it does make that one issue of wanting Armodoc NOW.

  15. I just got my first Gylos figure this week, an Apokalypse Sarvos and I love it! I also solved the passcode puzzle and was getting ready to buy the Classified Sarvos. Are the Warp zone and puzzle already over though?

  17. The Passcode is over for now, got a response that was a little quicker than what we had anticipated! Thanks again to all of you guys, you keep us on our toes and excited to make more stuff. Be on the look out for something regarding Govurom this coming week. Oh yeah, that "Armodoc" guy might just be our first vinyl piece.... and that would be affordable vinyl, not crazy expensive vinyl. Something that's meant to be played with (and maybe pilot as well). Although we all still love the "expensive" vinyl, we want to go in a different direction that brings the focus back to the reason original vinyl was put out in the first place -affordability. Let's see where we land.

  18. Darn! I really wanted that Classified Sarvos... Oh well, I'll track down more in the near future I hope. The fact that these little guys have limited runs is a part of the appeal of why I like them so much I think. Also, their price point makes it so enticing to want to buy just a giant handful of them!

  19. pilot? mech suit? crap, I will have no money if that happens.
on a plus note, I will probly be able to make it to SDCC this year, so bring on the exclusives!

  20. Can't wait to get my classified figure! I love the all black look and have so since I first saw Eclipse Pheyden on the blog. I'm soooo intrigued with the prospect of Armdoc vinyl figures and a Govurom special run! Can't wait to see those manifest!! Love the Passcode addition to the blog, I have been having fun with them. Onell Design rocks, and has me checking the site daily!

  21. Oh yeah, I really appreciate the affordability factor of the Glyos figures. I hope that never changes. I often see vinyl figures I wouldn't mind owning (such as Kid Robot figures) but can't justify buying due to the price. Keep up the good work!

  22. seem i keep missing the passcode game

oh next time till then i keep playing with my pheyden

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yeah those passcode puzzles don't last very long. Gotta check everyday, or couple of days if you don't want to miss any exclusives. Even if they didn't unlock any figures I wish they would still be accessible to play around with. I love the eight-bit graphics! I wish there was an eight-bit Glyos video game! What do you say Marcus??

    ReplyDelete
  24. Working on it! Anyone know any good flash actionscript/backend programmers that would like to help?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Marcus - if you have a page up describing the project (or even a blog entry), you could probably go to someplace like reddit.com (specifically the "Gaming" section) or Digg, submit the link, and see if anyone there responds.

(Hell, I know at reddit, you can just post a "self" post that'll generate a comment thread on its own, and you could describe the project there.)

Unfortunately, all the programmers I know stick with the engineering side of things, so I can't help you there. Good luck...

    ReplyDelete
  26. hey Marcus i hope its styled like the original megaman game that would be awesome

    ReplyDelete
  27. Mark,
although technically illegal, it would be possible for some enterprising person to hack the sprites for an existing game utilizing the Glyos characters. Although it is a bitch to do.
