Thank You!

Holy smokes! My apologies for not writing a proper thank you post yesterday, but we were busy bees after Friday night's drop. We experienced a few things that have never happened before, one being a near total crash of our website due to the high volume of traffic. Not necessarily a bad thing, but we were shocked by the event.

Maybe it was because we have not had a full release of all new Glyos stuff since last October, or maybe it was just one of those strange times that just occurs every so often. Whatever it was, it also resulted in our fastest sell out of almost everything in stock yet (it will be 5 years of selling production toys in July 2012). I feel psyched, but also a bit like a fool for not making more stuff.

The upcoming March release will absolutely have more Blocks, blank vinyl and more painted PVC. The numbers will be increased, but not to the point of overload. The vinyl aspect I know is not for everyone, but I'm hoping that the blank options might open the door for some of you that have hesitation. I'll be doing some basic tutorials (just me making something) soon, so hopefully that will also show just how easy and fun messing with vinyl can be. It really does add an interesting addition to this whole project.

For those of you who are hardcore PVC peeps, the nearly completed Hub Set should add some spice to your customizing endeavors. With 17 parts, and the ability to become various contained mini builds right out of the bag (think tiny mechs and the like), the Hub Set should add some new dimensions to things. I've really enjoyed playing with the test shots and feel like this set holds some true potential.

Thank you once again, for keeping us on our toes and for pushing us to become a better operation. Personally, I'll forever be astonished that this is real, and that we all have gotten to know each other through these weird little pieces of plastic.

Thanks for keeping us alive.

  1. The Hub Set has me salivating. You had me at "tiny mechs".

    1. He knows his fans too well, methinks...

    2. I think you two in particular will find these new parts useful. For Phaseon/Gobon related builds and more powerfully proportioned characters that call for beefier arms and legs.

    3. Sounds great, and can't wait to see how the Hub Set looks! Now I just kinda hope there are "bundles" to make Buildstation life a little easier...

    4. I echo Roy's sentiments, sounds great! Will certainly be interesting to see what people end up doing with the Hub Set. I know I can hardly wait myself!

  2. Any chance of seeing restocks of things from this wave? I missed the Shock Force Axis Joints, EMD Axis Joints and Shock Force Phaseon and I've heard plenty of others wishing for more.

    1. In general we do not restock anything outside the Buildstation stuff and maybe an occasional standard color of a Traveler.
That's not to say that the EMD colors will never return at some point down the road though.

    2. Damn, guess I'll just hope Shock Force and EMD make reappearances later...

Oh and always, fantastic work and I'll keep giving you money as long as you keep making these guys.

  3. I'm not a builder, but the Hub set has me interested, especially with building tiny Mechs.

Will we be seeing more Crayboth (like Enforcer, Stealth, and Glyaxia)and new Traveler colorways ?

Congrats & September 2012 will mark 5 years of buying Glyos figures.

    1. New Crayboth are on track as well as new Travelers. March should have some fun things for fans of the older molds.

5 years! That's crazy Chris! It seems like just yesterday in so many ways.

    2. That's great news here, I'm fairly new to the Glyos universe but my heart is with the Travellers and Crayboth!

  4. Congrats, Matt! Though I hope this doesn't prove too costly in terms of server upgrades and whatnot...

As for the tutorials, my vote is that you channel Bob Ross for any narration that you do. Considering how accessible you make customizing and toy art for folks, and are just generally amiable as a human being, it'd be a perfect fit!

  5. I can only imagine it's a rocky bit of uphill travel when traffic hits milestones like that. :O But hopefully it'll lead us to having larger production runs and more cool experimentation like the Block be things that are financially feasible. Really looking forward to the Hub Sets!

  6. As someone who immediately took apart my first Glyos figures and started making all sorts of things out of the pieces, I'm looking forward to this "Hub Set" thingy!

Thank you for always making such neat stuff, and I hope those that missed out on things will get their chance at 'em!

  9. You had us worried for a while there, boss. When the site started lagging, I had terrible visions of your computer monitor comically exploding in your face like so much malfunctioning Acme product. Glad to see my cartoonish appraisal of things didn't pan out that way.

  10. This upcoming Hub Set sounds like a great addition.
Glad that Friday's drop was such a success.

  11. any hope of a preorder system coming in the future, I know there was stuff I didn't even see by the time the page loaded. I know you don't want money tied up in inventory but at least for the high end vinyl rigs, blocks, hub preorders will tell u how many u have to make, then if you can safely make more it will reduce your costs = greater profit

    1. The pre-order system is a dangerous area for an operation like ours, as there are too many variables these days with doing business overseas -at least for us. I personally will never sell anything unless it is on the premises and I've been able to inspect exactly what it is I'm shipping out.
Inventory will slowly be increased as we progress, but the pre-order system is not a good fit for how we operate.
My apologies for the website slowdowns, that was a bummer, but it did teach us a lesson over here.
Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate your input.

    2. no worries I am glad you have a commitment to the quality of your product and that is why your product sells like it does. I'll always be a fan and I'll get as much as I can.

  13. Not sure which has me more on the edge of my seat: Hub set or Crayboth. (Okay, we all know the answer to that...) It's exciting just to watch Onell succeed in leaps and bounds, can't imagine what it must feel like to be piloting the ride.

  14. Thank you Matt & the whole crew over at Onell, I love your Toys since I first discovered a few month back and since then I always keep my eyes peeled for your Stuff, and with great enthusiasm!
What comes next with the Hub set can only be as great, too. Again - can`t wait for it;)

Are the Black Blocks gonna get a restock and be available in the Buildstation?

  16. Thanks for another great crop of releases Matt! I'm really excited to see the Metallic Purple in hand. I feel bad that i couldnt afford any Vinyl this month, but I'm super pumped for the Hub sets! It's bittersweet seeing the fanbase grow, it's always good to have more fans involved, but that means more competition on drop day ;)

  17. Thank you, again, Matt, and everyone at Onell. :) This was a crazy drop, though not the way Glyaxia was. lol. Really looking forward to seeing what else you have coming up, and to see what people do with the Blocks.

  18. thanks Matt and everyone... I'm still sad I missed out again, this time based on my own stupidity... on the other hand, I am THRILLED that this continues to be so successful for you, and I can accept the personal loss in exchange for your, your company and more importantly, your family's gain.

I really can't wait to see the hub set... any chance of you slipping some test shots into orders like you did a few other things in the past?

anyway, I really hope to talk to you soon! all the best!

    can't wait until march!

  19. Matt, I just noticed that Task Force Volkriun & the White Glyan was not in the archive

  20. Matt, is there any chance you'll release more Gobons soon?

My younger sister stopped for a visit and fell in love with mine, abducting it and leaving me Gobonless. My only hope is with a prisoner trade.
