Exercising the Possibilities

Adding two Swing Joint Sets to a Glyan allows for a few new dance moves! The height and dimensions remain almost the same, just a tiny bit beefier. I imagine that in the story, the Swing Joints act as an upgrade for the Glyans, to help take on bigger challenges, and maybe even a Rogue Traveler or two.

The pics above show the most basic application, the crazier stuff happens when you start taking the joints apart.

There are 6 main parts and 6 Switch Pins per Swing Joint Set., for a total of 12 individual pieces.
A full breakdown and more details coming shortly.

Also, the complete list for the upcoming release is very close to being done, aiming to post it tomorrow night!

    1. Thanks Pj! The potential of these new parts is best put to use when they are integrated with the other accessory sets. Contained Builds get a whole new lease on plastic life!

I truly can't wait to see what comes to life once these get out there.

  6. I feel like the guy on the left is the school's star jock; the guy on the right is, well, me. heh.

Okay, I've got ask: will the 90-degree bend fit into a Crayboth hip socket? Will the inside face of the hinge piece fit?

    1. There is actually a special build using just one set and a Crayboth. Very reminiscent of the old "tall" Crayboth builds from years ago that used the matching Traveler parts. I'm kind of crazy about playing with the Tallboth.

All the fits are there, just a bit tight across the hips. The parts have been designed to maximize the "cheat" potential due to the particular structure of the joints.

      Thanks Cappy!

  7. annnnnnnd I just came. O_o

These joints look awesome, just perfect for making the glyans more articulated. I see the Glyan as a 1970's toy with the basic cut-joint articulation, and by adding the swing joints they move up the ladder to a 1980's toy.

VERY curious to see the applications of these when taken apart, I'm already envisioning using them as shoulder cannons for some figures.

Oh & for some reason all these poses reminds me of the old Intellivison Logo where it's this white stick-figure doing different sports.

    1. Thanks Chris! I just spit out my drink!

I really love that comparison of the 70's evolving into the 80's. I feel the same way about these new parts. I think the ability to build semi-beefy to super beefy shoulders will line up well with your building and sculpting style. The tiny right angle pieces add a simple option for all kinds of structures, large and small. They have a very plain look, so hopefully they serve as an easy transition point for the new articulation.

    2. Ha-HAH! My work here is done!

Thanks, I felt that most accurately described the whole thing to me. I'm very much looking forward to using these on some of my current customs, as I know the Alien Mercenaries could use them to get elbows & knees. TONS of potential with these new parts, so I agree with you 100% on this. They really are the next step after Axis Joints.

    1. Charles, that large scale Barbarianaut you did is glorious! I saw it today over at Nerd City and screamed at my computer for not allowing me to reach in and grab it. That is one of my favorite designs to come down the pike in a while.

Just had to write it down.

      Ha!

    2. Thanks a ton, man! Maybe one day we'll see some more large scale space-faring barbarians! ;)

  9. Cant wait to combine these with the axis joints and hubs to make some crazy transforming robots! I really appreciate how small and simple these are, they are the perfect addition. I'll have to see about making a double knee joint for super poseability.
Cane looks like he's having a good time too!

  10. Thanks Dom! I'm currently messing around with a small endoskeleton type build that reminds me a little of something that you would construct.

Cane is definitely enjoying the upgrades, the little bugger.

  12. By golly, you've made Glyan Stikfas.

In all seriousness, these are just what we needed. There's a lot more character to the Glyan now, and I can only imagine what can be done to Hubs and bigger contained builds, like the Phase Defender and Combodrone. Color me excited, for sure.

Again, I know it's a stretch, but could we ever see these run in at least the white and yellorange, some far away day?

  13. This exactly what I was hoping for the line.
Swivel arms along bendable elbows and knees.
    Matt, you've done it again.

  14. This..This makes me like the glyan.

    Yes.

  15. This is the day I have awaited for so long. It...it almost feels like a dream. This is going to bring so many more building options to the table.

I love how dynamic the Glyan looks in those shots, Matt! That one in the lower left looks like he's about to dunk on some fools.

  16. now I feel like my heavy investment into Glyans will really pay off.
I knew these guys had massive potential.
    cannot waitttt....

  17. Can't wait to see the prices and drop date so I can plan. I feel like I'm gonna grab a bunch of these and other accessory parts to try and make a transforming dude of some kind.

    1. I agree with you 100% Talyn, it really showcases just how much more movement you get out of these new joints. Much more fluid. The top right pose is one I also like, very natural looking.

These joints will be great for thin, wirey customs, they'll be a good set for sure. :-D
