Old Feelings

Playing with these new colors brings me right back to the late 70's, having tiny adventures under the beds of our old house in Maine.

I love when the detail lines are on everything, but I've come to equally love the pure toy look that happens when the molds are just run with some minimal spray applications and a few tampos.

The Adventure People vibe I get when handling these is kind of crazy, particularly on the DSGs. They've hijacked my Alpha Probe for multiple unauthorized missions since arriving.

More pics coming up!

  1. Holy crap that center DSG is fantastic. Would look great next to my self made orange DSG styled explorer. Wonderful.

  6. Very nicely done, Matt! These definitely bring out the "playful" nature of the figures more than ever, and it's very nice to see the old "Black Skull" grey come back, too. That alone might make for some nice variations in the color schemes!

  7. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH going to broke.

Double broke if there's going to be full blocks in addition to the mini-rig format!

Seriously this is like Christmas every 2 months.

  9. Oh. Oh I see some beautiful potential here. Not only do we have the adventure people colors. But put them together... dark yellow, white, dark gray and green accents... and you get a pretty nice drop that could have some Macross VF-1S baddassary

  10. FP Adventure People colored figures... Macross colored vinyl... So much for that paycheck! :D

That said, Matt, could you tell us more about the 'Mini-Rig?'

    1. Mini-Rigs seem to look like they just are Rig feet + block top + 2x Conversion Kit tiny arms. If they're sold in that configuration, it would be interesting. Also wondering what happens to the leftover parts.

    2. No leftover parts in the vinyl figures, each piece has its own mold.

    3. Really? Well then that changes my perception on things.

  11. I love the AstroSarvos from the last post, but I do love grey and green. I have been wanting to get another Glyan, since my only other is from my very first drop, hehe! I think I'll have to pick up a grey DSG....

    I just hope there's no Hi-Phaseons.

  14. WOW, I'm really liking the yellow DSG, that's an awesome combination. Please tell me we'll be seeing an all gray DSG with green visor, that'd be amazing. :-D Definitely going to have to see what I can get from this drop, will there be lots of Hub sets?
