Toy Break and the Dunder Chief

Last month when we were out visiting George and Ayleen, we ended up on the famous Toy Break couch, and then proceeded to go headlong into a mind bomb tangent attack that I will now apologize for in advance (ha!).

Huge thanks to the dynamic duo of October Toys for enduring the verbal hurricane that landed in their fantastic home right before DCon.

BIG BOOTS.

20 Questions!

Brian over at Plastic and Plush recently grilled me with a 20 question assault and he has actually decided to put it up (the poor devil). If you are curious about the inner workings of our tiny operation, then you might want to check out the article that Brian has put together.

Thanks for risking the lowest readership your site has ever had by running my answers Brian!

In all seriousness though, P and P has always been a great supporter of the oddball things we get into over here and I'm very honored to have been asked to answer these 20 questions. Especially the one about the pound of burger.

Also the one about Toto.

In Outer Space

The talented crew (thanks Daniel) over at itsalltrue.net connected with us a while back and asked for some deeper details about our involvement in the Four Horsemen's OSM project. You can check out their interview here of a certain Bearded Fool in particular, and see how the trips to my Grandparent's house as a child opened the OSM vortex for me.

Also, if you really want some excellent information about the man behind the original Outer Space Men line, head over here to learn about Mel Birkrant's role in building the juggernaut that we all grew up with and loved - Colorforms. What an absolutely fascinating look behind the curtain from a man who could basically turn anything into gold.

I literally played with almost everything he had a hand in creating during the 70's and 80's! Now I need to search for those old Colorforms sets....

Interview with a Beard Lord

Check out Part I and Part II of a new interview over at Poe Ghostal's Points of Articulation. Poe taps into the early memories of Matt, aka the Beard Lord, and how things got started for us here at Onell. Part II focuses on The Outer Space Men project and reveals Caveman Doughty's first experiences online at the ripe old age of 25 (I was 15 and already building GeoCities...). Big thanks to Poe for putting this together- check out other interviews, reviews and more at PoeGhostal.com. The local brotherhood continues to grow...

'Living a Toy Story'

The local newspaper in Acton MA, the Beacon, recently did an article on Onell. We, meaning Matt, Michelle, Cady, Jesse & myself (Marc), are very grateful, and Matt is very flattered. I think he was slightly hesitant about mentioning it here, as he had only read the hard copy- until now of course... If only they had included the photo of the Beard Lord's mug sittin' up there in the Toy Tower ...priceless. Anyway, more posts to come.
