Thank You!!!

A belated but big thank you for one of the strongest turnouts of the year! We've been in overdrive mode since the launch and feel deeply grateful to you guys for making the new wave something extra special. Lots of new folks were mixed in with our steady base, thanks once again to the mighty Crafsman! As mentioned in the previous post, we've adjusted the next order to try and accommodate the shift of having a significant amount of fresh faces joining the party. The current target for the last wave of 2019 is early December.

Working on this last round was mega satisfying because of the different artists involved in the process.

I've known Glen "Circuits and Brains" Schricker, better known as Schrick, since I was a kid, so any chance to collaborate together always has an added depth that comes from our old hometown connection. He's been a phenomenal talent since day one and completely nailed the sound of Halkenn's descent into darkness perfectly.

Supplying a frenetically paced parallel to Schrick's foreboding flourish was the super prolific John Beaudette, the twin brother and life-bandmate of our very own Marcus! As one half of the dual-powered Arcade Rats, John created a driving chiptune that captured the genesis of the Parasitic Halkennite in all its twisted glory.

Last but not least, the German Genius of Drawing (and painting, and coloring, and designing), Ralph Niese, delivered a critical sequence of awe-inspiring art that brought everything into wicked focus. We love seeing what Ralph creates for each wave, and paired with the audio escapades of Schrick and John the visual experience transformed into a beast even more powerful than the Halkennite itself!

Massive thanks to these three powerhouses!

Michelle and I took on the shipping alone this time, and the steady flow really kept us on our toes. This was the highest amount of orders processed and packed this year, even rivaling the craziness of 2013. As a result, it took us a little bit longer to carefully move everything out the door. We had The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers on a Fire Stick loop for the overnights and then rolled into SZA to hold things together as we closed in on the finish line. Also caught the Mandalorian and loved it. Jawa disintegrations! The Egg!

Wrapping up, we'll be heading back out to DCon later this week (Booth 3028) and we're super psyched to connect with everybody and talk shop! If all goes according to plan (blood sacrifices to US Customs withholding), we might even have a few advanced offerings from our early December wave available to check out. We love DCon and are honored to be able to attend for another year!

On a very special bonus note, keep your eyes on the store near the end of the week/weekend as we'll be popping up the third offering from our collaboration with 1000toys, the Nu:Synth Glyninja Dark! We've been waiting for this one since last year, and will have a limited supply available and ready to rumble. This one comes with a awesome cape and Glyos compatible Robo Force inspired gunblades and walks the line between Glyninja and Glyknight in design, but at the 1:12 scale. It's a good one!

Extra big thanks to everybody, both new recruits and old soldiers, for inspiring us to continue pushing the limits of this well worn Sandcrawler! Utinni!

Designer Con 2017

DCon 2017 has been the best one yet, and to bring some of the convention magic home to you we made sure to set aside half of the two DCon special "Portal Variation" Villser for the store. Both variations of the Morphic Villser (shown above) were made in equal amounts and are currently available in the store, along with some remaining customer service stock of the recent Noboto Portal Variation and a handful of Sarvostars.

We'll be at booth #1002 all throughout the day, so swing by if you're in attendance and we can catch up!

DCon Details 2016

Designer Con is upon us and we're super psyched to invade Pasadena for a third year in a row! The convention runs from Saturday, Nov. 19th 9am - 6pm to Sunday Nov. 20th 10am - 5pm and is located at the Pasadena Convention Center.

Echoing the floor plan from last year, we'll once again be surrounded by our extended family, featuring the united super powers from Tokyo, RealxHead, Studio Uamou, Skull Toys, Punk Drunkers and Goccodo!

The Glyos family will be represented by Marty "Nemesis" Hansen (Kabuto Mushi #1001), John Kent (Toyfinity #1002) Spy Monkey Creations (Battle Tribes #1003), Jesse DeStasio (Knights of the Slice #120), Mark Vasquez (Mystical Warriors of the Ring #1001), Nemo Campisi (Nemo's Factory #1002), Ben Spencer (Galaxxor #1001) and the newest addition to the mayhem, Pat Bussey (Bio-Masters #1001).

Holding down the Glyos compatible 3D printing fort will be the ABS master, Pj Bartlett (Spaced Out Design #1002). Pj has been practically living at the shop over the last few months while refining and building his new selections. Those in attendance will not be disappointed with the results of his latest experiments. He's even printed a few vehicles!

Also showcasing his own range of 3D printed figures in row 1000 will be the architect of the extraordinary Mecha Zone himself, David White (#1005)! David continues to innovate and inspire with both his 3D work and 2D illustrations. A monster talent, indeed.

Deep, deep thanks goes out to Ben Goretsky of 3DRetro for all his hard work this year and for allowing all of us to have the opportunity to come together in such an excellent location. We also want to thank the legendary October Toys for always supporting us throughout the years. We've shared a great decade of friendship together and we look forward to 10 more!

For those of you who make the show, please swing by booth #1002 and say hello!

Thank You!!!

Thank you for making our 50th wave a good one!

It was really neat to finally run some of the molds in the classic M.U.S.C.L.E. flesh, and the timing seemed right to mark the occasion of our 50th release. I have very fond memories of discovering M.U.S.C.L.E. at our local Zayre department store as a kid, and being crazy about the Robin Mask figure in particular (though I called him "Northern Knight"). I still have my original! To be able to come full circle and produce Pheyden in the iconic flesh hue has been a trip! Some other characters from the ranks may get the flesh treatment in 2016, maybe even some that have never been seen before.

Speaking of trips, we will be attending Designer Con out in Pasadena this weekend, thanks to the dynamic duo at October Toys -the great George and Ayleen Gaspar! This looks to be the most jammed packed DCon yet, with folks traveling from all over the world to showcase what they've been creating throughout the year. We will be set up at Booth 1000, with new stuff available from Jesse (Callgrim), Marcus (Onell/ Bit Figs), Pj (Spaced Out Design), Dominic (Nemo's Factory) and possibly a few surprises as well. A small assortment from Sunday's release will be available at our table, as well as a few random things from the barn.

Fellow Glyos makers Marty (The GodBeast), Mark (Mystical Warriors of the Ring) and Jeremy and Brian (Spy Monkey Creations) will be set up right across from us, featuring some great special releases debuting at the show.

Make sure you check out the amazing array of Japanese Sofubi makers that made the journey from Japan! RealxHead, Studio Uamou, Skull Toys, Punk Drunkers and Goccodo will all be attendance again this year, armed with some excellent new stuff to share.

Of special note, remember to enter the Mecha Zone at booth 813 if you make the show. Incredible left handed illustrator/designer David White will stun you with the figures he's been creating using his 3D printer.

If you're in the Pasadena area or attending the convention, please swing by the booth and say hello! We had an incredibly fun time last year, and getting the chance to catch up with some of you in person was the best.

Thanks again for being part of our 50th wave! We are forever grateful to have the opportunity to continue doing this, and we're always working away behind the scenes to push things into new dimensions -even if we're a little quiet around here sometimes. Multiple projects are right at the threshold of being rolled out that we've been working on for over a year, and we can't wait to share them with you.

Hope to see you in Pasadena!

Toy Break and the Dunder Chief

Last month when we were out visiting George and Ayleen, we ended up on the famous Toy Break couch, and then proceeded to go headlong into a mind bomb tangent attack that I will now apologize for in advance (ha!).

Huge thanks to the dynamic duo of October Toys for enduring the verbal hurricane that landed in their fantastic home right before DCon.

BIG BOOTS.

California Dream

We want to give a big thank you to everyone who came out for Designer Con this last weekend! It was an excellent show and really had a little bit of everything to offer from across the boards.

George and Ayleen are onto something special, and I have a feeling that DCon will become the main destination for independently run operations to showcase their stuff in the coming years.

Massive thanks to October Toys and Ben from 3DRetro for offering a quality venue that lines up with what we're all doing, and for their incredible hospitality and attention to all the tiny details. We absolutely want to go back in 2015 and highly recommend you check it out for yourselves if you get the opportunity.

Pasadena was a fun spot to explore and we ate all kinds of grub during the trip. I think the Brazilian Barbecue almost destroyed Mori. Maybe he'll create a new character based on the experience.

We'll pop up some pics from the show (and outside of the show) over the next few days.

Designer Con 2014

After a number of years without a proper visit, we're headed back out to the West Coast, this time to attend the legendary Designer Con which happens this weekend, November 8th and 9th (Booth #401).

Located in Pasadena, California at the Pasadena Convention Center, Designer Con is loaded with tons of incredible artists that cover many different aspects of the independent toy world- from all around the globe! We are extra excited that our extended family from Tokyo will be in attendance, with RealxHead, Uamou and Skull Toys all rolling out fresh selections of sofubi magic.

This particular Designer Con will also mark the gathering of multiple members of the Glyos family of full production figure makers, with Marty "Full Throttle" Hansen (Kabuto Mushi), Spy Monkey Creations (Weaponeers of Monkaa), Jon Karis of LRG and Plastic Imagination (Rise of the Beasts) and new addition Mark Vasquez (Mystical Warriors of the Ring) all in attendance.

Hand casting machine Pj Bartlett of Spaced Out Design will also be there, debuting his brand new (and resin heavy) creation, Quarzenic!

Nemo Campisi from Nemo's Factory (who currently has a figure in the tooling process over at our factory) plans on showing his fantastic Robot prototype (produced by the masters at True Cast Studio, creators of the Glyos compatible Walking Dud figure) as well as some incredibly innovative hand made felt creations that need to be seen and handled to be believed.

The elusive Jesse Moore will be at the show in spirit only, as he continues to build his Screen Printing Death Star up in Beverly. Even though he's had to take an extended hiatus from production for most of this year, Skullface's daddy still has a few tricks up his sleeve. We'll miss you on this mission, Gimli, and will eat multiple In-N-Out Burgers in your honor.

The rollcall of talent lined up for this show is pretty intense. Here is a list of this year's vendors.

We want to send out a gigantic thank you to our great friends George and Ayleen of October Toys and Ben Goretsky of 3DRetro for putting such a powerhouse event together. Marc, Megan and I are very excited to be part of the action this year. Michelle and the girls will hopefully make it out for the next one!

Thanks for reading through this link bomb of a post!

Please come by Booth #401 and say hi, and we hope to see some of you real soon!
