Passcode Flashback

We hope everyone is having a fun holiday season, and that the new year brings a fresh wave of creativity and inspiration.

The video above is a little flashback compilation that spotlights some of the moments we've shared together throughout the Passcode series. Creating these over the last decade was a true labor of love, and they still stand as some of the best projects that I've had the pleasure to be a part of.

Cheers!  -Marcus

Passcode Playthrough

In celebration of officially hitting the 10 year mark, we've put together a special Passcode Playlist that covers almost every entry in the series!

Creating each installment was always a labor of love, even when finishing things would take hours or days longer than expected (like the Glyaxia Incident of 2010). For anyone that may not have completed a game, or wants to rewatch the stories on the big screen, there is now over an hour of video to stream on YouTube.

Extra special thanks to our friend Rich Vreeland, whose music became not only the soundtrack, but the inspiration for many moments throughout the series.

Michelle, Matt and I are SUPER excited to debut the new figure tomorrow. There will not be a new Passcode this time, but check back for big reveals leading up to the launch tomorrow night at 9:30 PM ET!

The Sendollest Drifts

The Store is LIVE!

You may place ONE ORDER WITHIN THE FIRST HOUR tonight. We are seeing a high volume of traffic and need everyone's cooperation to make this as smooth as possible. After the initial dust settles, we will lift all limits. Thanks for your understanding and support. Have fun!

Passcode Demade 2

A few more Glyos to Gameboy conversions!

Passcode Demade

The images above are byproducts of some low-color pixel studies. Each is made to the exact specs of the original Gameboy. I'm still amazed at how much detail and depth those games could convey with only 4 shades of that beautiful puke green.

Thank You!!!

Thank you for a great start to 2015! It was awesome seeing some old names come up in the mix during the launch.

I will attempt to keep this brief (right), as we are currently in the middle of a historic blizzard up here in New England and my shoveling/plowing duties are in overdrive.

The debut of the new production Neo Granthan head is something that has been in the works for about a year (like many of the projects here as of late). Finally being able to handle a full production piece, as well as spend some time looking at it through the camera lens has been a strange experience, mainly because this small addition to the ranks has a pretty deep significance within the development of Glyos. I have been drawing and working on the stories for the Granthans since way back in the early days of Rechlen and Aves, and the location of the planet Granthan has been a pivotal story point for many of the events that have transpired in our long running loose narrative (check out the Passcode section to your right).

The LSA battled Govurom there.

Govurom was defeated by Infiltrator Argen there.

Argen was freed by Pheyden there.

The Armodocs were created by Viyer there.

The Massacre on Granthan occurred there.

Agent Nemica became Hades there.

As the stories came together over the years, Marc, Jesse and I talked about eventually spotlighting the inhabitants of planet Granthan, and their role in the larger scheme of things. This was further explored when Marty and I collaborated on the first version of the Granthan head, which Marty sculpted, cast and still offers through his site.

These twists and turns have all arrived at the Neo Granthan version of the Armorvor. I'll expound on the reasoning for the updated look, partial head armor (fires a "Primal Ray") and color choices later, but each aspect has specific thought put behind the final appearance.

I hope that when these new figures land in your hands they spark the imagination and make you smile.

Now, I'm off to shovel.

Again.

Shipping updates will pop up as we dig out of this Snowzone throughout the week!

Super Crayboth Glyventure!

Here's a little game we've been working on to coincide with both our anniversary and the release of our new vinyl figure. It's a Glyventure game, with controls similar to Dungeon Traveler but a few twists. My favorite addition is the Glyan Boombox (aka the Rhythemitter), featuring tunes by Arcade Rats (aka my twin). Click it during gameplay to cycle through a few tunes!

Depending on which player you choose, you may have a different experience, especially when going up against the Super Cray. The game is currently in Duel Mode only, so there is no ending... yet. Check back soon as we will unlock Commander Kullkizer and add a few other touches.

Massive thanks from Matt and I to my brother Jbo for delivering some clutch tuneage, and of course thanks to all of you for 7 years of continuous support. We hope you get a fun summer time vibe from this game that puts a smile on your face.

PS- Limits have been lifted and you may place additional orders.

Thank You 2

Hey guys! I just wanted to also extend my sincere thanks to Matt, Michelle, and the entire Glyos community. This launch was a big one for us on a few levels, and it was fun to tap into that zone one can only reach with the right mixture of inspiration, stress, excitement, curveballs, and little sleep. Also just the right ratio of healthy meals to horrible late-night decisions.

Another thanks to Rich Vreeland (Disasterpeace) for once again allowing us to use a few of his 8-bit audio gems. Since creating the first animated Passcode back in May 2009, Rich's music has fueled each foray into pixelated Glyos, both on screen and behind the scenes. His tunes never fail to have an emotional impact, and truly are a vital ingredient to the series. A shout out to my actual evil twin as well, who helped me with testing Glyaxia and tweaked a few audio bits for me.

Finally, thank you Matt. You have this uncanny ability to bring out things in people they would've otherwise never knew existed. I think this is a direct result of having too much creative energy for one man to handle. It's been a privilege to call the Doughty household my second home, and after all this time I feel we're still just scratching the surface together.

There will be an update to Glyaxia II later this week that some of you may get a kick out of, including a new mini game (or two)... if you could choose your own Glyaxia Command player, who would you pick..?

5.11.2014

Glyaxia Command Returns!!!

We hope you guys have a good time tonight!

GLYOOOOOOOOS!!!! HA!

EDIT: The limits have been lifted and you may place additional orders. Thanks for your patience.

Also note that past releases are still available over at the Buildstation.

Glyaxia II: Escape from Block Base

Have fun!!

FYI- This is a good sized flash-based game. For those of you with older computers/laptops, you may experience a little Glyaxia choppiness... You can right click to save this file and play it on your desktop as well. Leave any feedback in the comments section of this post. Good luck trying to escape...

Thank You!!!

Thank you for all the great support of Sunday night's new release! It was a small round, but the activity was solid and the numbers seemed to line up with the flow of interest for this particular assortment.

Extra special thanks for giving the new mini card set a chance. The idea of doing a Passcode themed project like this little card set has been discussed here for a number of years, so seeing it finally come to fruition was super satisfying, and thanks to Tom at Sidekick Labs the vintage quality is spot on.

This small launch also allowed us to try some packaging again, in the form of the NYCC 2013 Combo Pack. The Combo Pack was another project that Marcus and I had been talking with Tom about for quite some time. The graphics chosen were designed to match up with the Passcode theme, focusing on Marc's pixel art. For those of you that have been hanging around here for the last few years, you may also recognize some of those sprites from the old Warp Zone days (when new characters would debut in a secret store called the Warp Zone). There is also a little Easter Egg on the back of the packaging as well, referencing something from way back in the early days of our operation.

For future packaging projects, our idea is to try different themes every once in a while, focusing on the various styles that we each employ to realize all these oddball characters and strange story arcs. In general though, the figures will continue to be offered as per usual, in the simple polybags with no fancy fixings.

Speaking of basic operations, we are almost done processing everything from Sunday, and will begin the shipping on Thursday morning, hopefully wrapping up sometime on Saturday afternoon.

Our next release will appear at the very end of November/beginning of December, and will close 2013 out for us. If you enjoyed the looks of Ecroyex Armorvor and like the color blue, then the next round may make you smile.

Thank you so much from all of us over here, for keeping the engine running! We owe everything to each one of you, and never take for granted how fortunate we are to be allowed to do this.

Passcode Wax Packs

Tonight we will be rolling out something brand new for us- Passcode wax pack trading cards!

I (Marc) am especially excited about this as it's been a dream of mine to design a set of cards. My brother and I started collecting baseball cards at a young age, and quickly got into Garbage Pail Kids, Marvel Universe, TMNT and the like. I still horde all our old albums, and bust them out once in a while for inspiration.

Matt and I enjoyed making the one-off Glyos cards that would coincide with Passcode releases, and have discussed a full set for years. It wasn't until we met Tom Lichtman through the Art Hustle project that we seriously considered releasing something. Tom and his operation Sidekick Lab are doing amazing things, recreating a vintage card collecting experience with the chipboard style approach sealed in old school wax packs.

This special Passcode card set debuted last weekend at NYCC in a blister carded combo set. Tonight we'll be offering a few of the two-packs that were left over, as well as just the card sets by themselves for the first time. There are 9 designs in this Alpha wave- 6 cards and 3 stickers (a complete set in every pack!). This is a bit of an experiment, and if you guys dig these, a more expansive set will be put into motion.

Completion

Finally! Now with stop, rewind, and full screen options. Thanks again to the talented Glen Schricker for helping get this out there properly.

Suggestion: Upgrade video to HD (click the gear symbol and select 720p).

Stage 2: Record of the Delphi

Have we really not done one of these since 2010? Hopefully this makes up for the absence... I know it was just as much of a roller coaster ride (to hell) as the previous ones. Matt and I have been working on this for a while- we hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did making it.

The original plan was to debut this on YouTube for loading and sharing purposes, but we still haven't solved the frame rate and audio sync issues (we'll repost when we do). Massive thanks to Glen Schricker for helping out. As always, we owe so much to Rich Vreeland and the music of his one man army, Disasterpeace for allowing us to pillage his catalog. He is a symphonic assassin.

Here we go... Passcode: Record of the Delphi.

Edit: Now on Youtube.

A Tribe Called Glyos

Hey guys! Marcus here. I wanted to say thanks for all the positive feedback for the OMFG media and make note that they have been added to the archives: Ralph's gorgeous OMFG comic is on the sidelines here and you can find the Project: OMFG Passcode at the select screen.

In other news, I am headed overseas tomorrow to tour Europe with a new band! I will join Latin rockers Mr. Kowalksy on a 3-week adventure hitting Germany, Switzerland and France. Expect to see a few random blog posts of Pheyden crowd-surfing to strange new places... and if we're lucky, maybe a certain Bruno Orbit dude will show up in some pics...

Destroy Babylon (my band of 10+ years) will continue strong next year, but Matt and I also have some fun projects on tap for 2012. Thanks as always to everyone involved in the Glyos Community. To spend everyday of my life making music, art and toys with great friends and family is all I could ever ask for. I'll miss everyone (especially my beautiful wife Heidi) and cannot wait to jump back into it in January!!

OMFG! Extra!

It's a little bit late, but new content for tonight's OMFG! launch is ready to go, thanks to the combined talents of Marcus and Ralph!

You can checkout an all new Mini Passcode with some special interactive goodies put together by 8-Bit mastermind Marcus as well as a crazy brand new comic by the one and only Ralph Niese.
Both of these are connected in celebration of the OMFG! project and feature some sneak peeks into what's in store for January over here.

Special thanks to George and Ayleen of October Toys for spearheading the OMFG! project and  pushing to make it a reality. We are already excited for Wave 2!
