Mission Details

We are currently getting blasted by a mega slushy winter storm, so being in front of the computer in between plowing duties is a welcome respite! It truly looks like a Slurpee cloud has parked over our town and decided to drown all lifeforms with a liqui-freeze vengeance. At least the girls and I have been able to raid all of Michelle's cakes for tomorrow.

This final release for 2014 has been in the works since the beginning of the year, completing the series of return visits to some of our older assortments. The previous Pappysoup Volkriun selections each hold a special place with us over here, especially the 2012 5th Anniversary round. We generated a lot of crazy content internally and with our longtime collaborators for that big wave, capped off by the introduction of the first production Armorvor. I had hoped to have the new Armorvor head ready to accompany this Volkriun Space Force crew, but Captain Ruger and the green machines will have to wait just a little longer to discover what new activities the Armorvors are involved in.

To spice things up Argen has returned from a little Gendrone walkabout along with his cohort, Enyriun, this time with both of them sporting an "Ultra" metallic pearlescent gold look including full detail lines. This matches right up with the recent Sectivorus Supreme Kabuto Mushi by the Godbeast himself, Marty "Totinos" Hansen.

Something a little different, as far as paint applications go, is also in the mix for Sunday, materializing in the form of a special Redlaw Phanost. Shot in clear purple (Henshin inspired), this particular Phanost has painted metallic silver accents, and then a black detail line around all those silver areas as well as the lower portions under his eyes. The idea was to create the effect of the silver armor almost floating on the clear purple parts, and the end result is something that I've only ever tried with custom stuff. The included Sarvos and Scar Pheyden heads looks pretty sharp with this added effect as well.

The final part of this equation comes in the form of an Alcray themed Super Crayboth Pod. The familiar hues of light orange, pink and purple are all back, and for the first time a Reverse Alcray (Standard) has been produced.

Gah! Even when I try to keep it short I end up making a mini mountain! That being said, everything is in hand and ready to go.

We are still on track for this Sunday, November 30th at 9:30PM EST!

  3. What a fantastic, fantastic drop. The ability to army build multiple factions in a single wave has always been my favorite drop layout, recalling some of the greats like the EMD/shockforce(speaking of returns, EMD please!) and Council of Travelers/Neo Legion releases. Truly something for everyone here, whether you're going small or huge or anywhere in between. Can't wait!

  4. Everybody in that Totino's video is creepy looking, like they belong in a Rob Zombie movie.

Can't wait for this drop, Finally getting a revised Redlaw figure.

  5. Happy Thanksgiving Onell Design! Looks like another great drop is upon us. That Redlaw Phanost though...wow. Looking forward to that one! I bet Gliporian orange would look killer in that same scheme. Hope all is well, and good luck with the slush removal!

  6. I've been greedily hoping for more Volkriun for awhile, but I was unsure if more would actually be exciting enough to get me to go all in. The VSF colorway is simply brilliant. The colors really do remind me of the Real Type RX-78, and I'm always, always game for more Gundam influenced colors and toys. I can't resist real type colorways. So, I'm just ecstatic over these colors.

I didn't think anything else could top my excitement over the last wave of figures, but I think that VSF may be my favorite. Maybe not. Either way, I'll be able to mix and match because of the awesome decision you made to make these, tone-wise, so compatible. I could gush about the VSF stuff for paragraphs, but that's not even all there is.

The Redlaw Phanost looks like a boss, and I'm always up for more gold figures. My dream figure is a gold Glyan, with red highlights. I really hope someday you'll make that figure. Simply put, this drop looks great and I can't wait to hold these in my hands. Thanks for putting out another quality assortment of figures and continuing to innovate on such a minimalistic, and simple level. These colorways have just kept exciting me.

    Happy thanksgiving, everyone!

  7. I wasn't sure what to expect when clicking that Totino's link, but that sure wasn't it!
This drop is wonderful. I'll need to get the parts for that beefed up Sarvos! Also, Argen looks awesome with those red eyes and detail lines. I wouldn't mind a gold Noboto with detail lines, in case there were... plans, in the future.

  8. Sorry for being so late to the show, but 7C across all of the Accessory Sets? Excellent news, especially given just how versatile it is! (Seriously, it might be the best gray you've ever released.) It definitely gives any color scheme a "spacey" feel.

The new green also stands out, as it looks like a natural addition to each of the later waves of 2014. I already have some grayeen set aside, just in case. Now all we need is a comparable blue for those "Rig Wing" color ways.

And gold Phaseons? With parts to make some Contained Builds, too? This just keeps getting better and better!
