Now that's an unconventional use of a flesh colored peg! Is this the first time the hub dome actually is a clear bubble helmet with a 'head' inside? Wow!
Each Guardstar DSG comes with both a clear w/painted accents Hub "head" like in the pic above, as well as a solid Hub head so you can have the option for a armored helmet look (which also serves as a secret homage to another lost line called Tente). Designers really seemed to love making yellow astronauts back then!
Have pics of the solid head build option as well as the Glyan on deck!
When you assemble the Hub Set with these new painted styles on the Hub heads, you end up with a kind of neat scrunchy droid version of the full figure. Almost chibi like!
They also look kind of cool when joined by Takara's new Diaclone line, acting as weird support mechs.
Matt you have NO idea how full force I’ve gone into the new Diaclone line and how excited this prospect makes me! Right now my collecting is almost entirely nailed down to Glyos and Diaclone.
Damnit! I thought I'd at least go easy on the yellow DSG's, whelp there goes that notion.
That yellow paint really does transform the dome head, at second glance I thought it was painted pearlescent gold.
Now you got me curious of what you meant by "Slightly sneaky" additions to the build station. In some ways I'm equally or more so excited about the build station bulking up! Does this mean we might see some stealth parts making a come back into the build station?
There will be one new white item added to the Buildstation tonight (it's a full Sarvos figure with Phanost and Scar Pheyden heads included).
The Guardstar and Alienac base bodies have no paint except for the helmet visors, so in effect they are right in line with the current Buildstation options, just in two more basic colors.
That's great for building! Are the cyberglyans also unpainted other than the hubs and heads? That blue silver looks so good, I can just imagine the builds with it.

ReplyDeleteClever use of the Switch Pin! Does this mean that the Hub Set for this build is almost entirely painted yellow?

DeleteAn armored helmet too?! That’s amazing. Can we get a shot of the Glyan helmet as well? These are looking so good

DeleteThe Diaclone rebirth is beyond belief. True modern toy marvels in every way! The new Waruder assortment is at the top of my most wanted list!
DeleteWow., I didn't even notice that till you guys pointed it out. I thought it was just shine from the lighting. Very creative!

Also how does this yellow compare to the Selogo yellow?
DeleteThis is a much deeper yellow and a near perfect match to the Sarvostar Mystery figure from October 2017.
DeleteIt's funny that the Britains space yellow and the Fisher Price AP space yellow are so close. It's almost as if it was planned.

ReplyDeleteI'm loving the yellow on these- Reminds me a lot of Mac & Cheese, lol
All we need is a tiiiiiny face tampo on the peg XD
ReplyDeleteAw man, can’t wait to put a GITD pin in one of those domes and light that mug up!
ReplyDeleteMatt, I’d never heard of this line but wish I had, the ships are amazing! Can’t wait to see what else will show up!
