Thank You!!!

Thank you for a great little release! We've been working away over here like spastic Christmas elves to stay ahead of things and keep the boxes moving! It's been fun sending these mutants and Glyninjas out to you guys as we close in on the end of the year.

Speaking of this year, we've seen a lot of growth across the Glyos family in 2018. From new molds and experimental paint apps to special crossovers and even a successful Kickstarter (KOTS!), 2018 really introduced some excellent stuff from the different Glyos makers. 2019 looks to expand a bit more, with a number of exciting projects and even some new faces emerging onto the scene.

To celebrate the holidays in Advent calendar style (no chocolates, just PVC), December is packed with Glyos releases! We've already seen awesome new assortments from the great Pat Bussey (Bio-Masters), and Spy Monkey (all new parts, including a wicked Goblin and Berserker!), and later tonight Pj will have the first online sale of his incredible full production PVC Geodraxus (I've been lucky to have watched the development of this unique figure from day one and it's a refreshing, deep dive for builders).

As December continues to unfold we'll see offerings from the powerhouse, Marty "The GodBeast" Hansen (get ready for more super charged and striking color selections), and our very own Marcus will have a special Culture Pirates Shop release featuring a fun take on the Glyan and a full assortment of our accessories (and wheels!). Reinforcements will then land near the end of the month from our buddy John Kent and Toyfinity, which should make fans of the classic Robo Force characters smile.

Another surprising part of this crazy month is something that has finally materialized here at home base a little earlier than expected (as in a few days ago). I know the timing is a little strange, but due to the many requests we've been receiving since DCon, this Tuesday night (Dec 11th, 9:30PM EST) we'll be opening a special dedicated part of our store for the first domestic online release of our Nu:Synth Initiative crossover with 1000Toys, featuring Glyosynth Pheyden and Glyosynth Buildman. We have a decent amount of each style in stock and should be able to cover everybody who would like to check one out. This project has been an absolute dream and the crew at 1000Toys continue to impress. Huge thanks to Don, Jesse D, Yuta and the whole 1000Toys team! We'll post more about the process behind this crossover in the coming week.

All packages, including international orders, have hit the post, except what came in yesterday and this morning (they'll be out the door shortly as well). Huge props once again to Michelle and Pj for holding down the fort!

Recent packing tunes from the Barn included more Louis Cole (Marcus and I saw him live last month -incredible show), Queensrÿche (Mindcrime of course) and The Alan Parsons Project.

Thanks again from the whole family for keeping this ship running and inspiring us to push into new frontiers!

  1. Great news all around, December has already been crazy and it sounds like it's not slowing down at all. So happy to see so many things coming to fruition even if my wallet weeps.

Glyosynth has been a blast messing around with, I've been putting all sorts of crazy arms onto the buildman. Almost as much fun as all the orange PVC.

    1. You know our shared love of orange will get an extra big shot with the Marcus wave!

The engineering on the Synths is really something else. They have a surprising level of modularity, just by the default of their core construction. I've been pulling them apart and reassembling them for months and the parts have held up perfectly.

In general, I like to keep things we offer within a certain lower end price range, but figures like these are truly worth every penny.

  2. Hey Matt! I've started seeing these white KOTS Old Knight arm and hand canon sets popping up. I don't think I ordered the figure that those came with. Any chance of offering those as an accessory set when you add the Glyosynth to the store?

    1. That KOTS Forged Accessories Kit was packed with a Traveler in this round, as a special bonus.

In the not too distant future, Jesse D will be offering the Forged Set again (in new colors), so keep you eye on his store later this month!

  3. How much do the Glyosynth figures run? I've been jonesing hard for one, but not sure if I can afford it this time of the year :)

  4. Everything sounds promising for closing out the year! Good luck on the Glyosynth drop, as I'm sure that'll be insane!

    1. Thanks Roy! Hopefully they do alright and find the right rhythm with folks.

  5. What sizes are the Glyosynth figures? I thought I saw somewhere 12"?

  6. The Glyosynths are in the 1/12 scale, landing them both at around 6 inches tall.

By design, they're just a bit more compact than the other crossover and standard Synths.

  7. Much as I'd love to swing both of these I can't go spend crazy for a while. Should they sell out will we see them available again in the same color schemes?

    1. If the blue & red do sell out here, they will likely be sold on ToysToArt, 1000Toys’ store. It’s Japan-only, but you can use a proxy service to get them to you. I’ve used FromJapan to buy from TTA before. It’ll cost a bit more, but better than buying from flippers.

    2. Larry is correct! There will be a Japanese online release early next year that should have these 2 styles available in the assortment.

  8. It's still up in the air if these exact colors will see another production run.

A lot depends on the overall performance between this domestic online release and then the upcoming Japanese one planned for early next year.

All that being said, we've definitely discussed follow up color runs and projects with the crew at 1000toys.

  9. I'm pretty on the fence with these. I have yet to dive into the 1/12 scale simply because of the higher price point. I understand that these are supposed to be pretty high quality and highly posable figures, but my true love is Glyos and figures at that scale. The build potential, with the addition of the Glyos plug on these has me more intrigued. However I'm just not sure if I can afford $170 and I'm such a completest that if I buy one, i'll be kicking myself later for not getting the other.

The Buildman figure is my favorite head, and I do look forward to maybe seeing both heads offered with a single figure.

I'm very excited and a bit overwhelmed with the amount of awesomeness that is coming out this month! Reminds me of going to the store and seeing a new wave of TMNT and having to pick one, I was never very good at that...played a lot of eeny, meeny, miny, moe to determine who would come home with me.

    1. These big guys are definitely a different experience, and with the higher price, not a casual purchase.

Personally, I'm also not really a larger scale figure collector in general, but I do like them in the role of "titan" style characters. Somewhat similar to the Super Crayboth/ Armodoc's role in our roster. I actually think of every Glyos related figure existing in scale with each other, even the 3-3/4" stuff! These new big boys are no different, as I imagine these Glyosynths as super lifeforms that were created from the core (stolen?) DNA and code from original Travelers and Gendrones. In the same vein, CC and I play with Mythic Legions in that similar Titan style when they battle the Glyknights. We're crazy about ML around here!

Of course, scale is all relative to the person collecting any given thing.

On a side note, the Glyosynth Buildman head design is a nod to the old Microshow stuff I used to do, particularly a character called Microdroid Ranic and what its new head would have looked like if I ever did Microshow Part 2.

    1. A really unique sound and cool vibe to their tunes, and I especially love the track "Lucifer" of the album, Eve.
