Order in Exile

We hope you had a great set of holidays and are feeling good as we get moving into 2019!

The crew over here spent some quality time recharging together throughout the break and we're psyched to connect again and dive back into the mix.

This year should be another fun one, with a solid array of projects coming to life across a number of platforms, featuring new action from long time Glyos makers and fresh talent alike.

To get things started around these parts, our first assortment of 2019 (Wave 78) will roll out next Thursday, January 17th at 9:30PM EST.

Spectral swords and cursed battle axes shall clash!

  1. Yesss! I couldn't help but notice some of the tags up there ⬆
Man I'm really hoping we see a new Supercrayboth! However the Glyknights symbol would work really well on the Stryker Lock Mohawk figure...will we be seeing the return of the Villser, perhaps with a little more punch this round?

    1. Some of those greens remind me of the Villser Standard colors, might we see a Villser infected Glyknight in the same color scheme as Villden or Villboto?

    2. Stryker Lock is still on an extended hiatus, but the Super Crayboth is ready to rumble!

The Villser will return soon, but its core color themes (teals, aquas) definitely influenced some of the new PVC choices a bit. There's also some rather large tips of the hat to the 4H's Mythic Legions (I really love their line, and particularly love their armored skeletons), as well as some good old Lord of the Rings echoes.

We'll have a couple small twists on a few parts and figures as well.

    3. Great to hear! Oh yes i'm well aware of those Mythic Legions Skeleton's... I'm particularly fond of the translucent green and clear versions.

    4. Hopefully we'll be seeing a couple bitty Cray's to accompany the big mama!

    5. The Super Crayboth will absolutely be rolling with some regular sized Crays.

  2. Oh man, Glyknights, Old Knight, AND vinyl? Hell yeah! And those colors teased are all right up my alley! This is not going to be a cheap drop for me methinks!

    1. Right on, hoping for some metallic greens, and that tampo on the Glyknight is ferocious!

    2. There will be metallic PVC, clear tinted PVC and some regular PVC in the mix. Pretty decent variety of paint as well, including a very interesting, albeit slightly subtle, metallic paint.

    3. Oh man, are my dreams of Clear Glyans coming true? I've been kicking myself for a few years now that I wasn't around for Wave 21. I would love to see a new take on the Neo Voss Glyan and in painted Glyarmor would be even sweeter!

  3. Am I missing something? Who is "Old Knight," and why is CaptainCraybeard so excited for him?

    1. It's the new Toy Pizza figure unveiled at DCON. They just had their first official drop featuring DX versions of the figure this week.

    2. The Old Knight is another cross collaborative production between our good friends at Toy Pizza and us. Was really fun to work on, as Jesse D, Nicky, Jack and Erwin are all super talented and hyper sharp. Keep your eye on these guys this year, lots of neat stuff coming from their camp.

    1. Not as much as I know you'd prefer, but this first mission into the old vinyl country gets the ball rolling.

  5. Correct me if I'm wrong, but does anybody else think that first symbol looks quite a bit like a Varteryx face?

    1. Yeah, it's most likely because the Glyknights have a 'Demi-Varteryx" form

    2. I love the Demi Varteryx! I'm curious to see how the side extensions on that symbol will come into play.

    3. Well they could shrink the tampo to go in the same spot as the previous shoulder tampo (Glyknight, VJ Knight), but I get the feeling with the extensions it may go on the front of the Old Knight just above the waist belt. There's a lot of space available there and it's a similar triangle shape.

    4. The Glyknight symbol is indeed based on the Varteryx head (most of the symbols we use are based on different characters in our weird world).

Mr. Duke has a good eye for design! That location does look just about right for a deluxe tampo!

  8. Wasn't there a clear "dirty" green in the last wave of Bit-Figs? I wonder if it could make an appearance? Will this be the wave that sees the return of Exellis and the LSA?

Oh yeah and the tampo's keep getting better and better!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No Exellis and LSA in this assortment (they're coming later this year) and that dirty Bit green was a one time production run.

However, you will see a different clear color that's a familiar cousin of green in this new release.

    2. More Exellis this year?? Oh boy oh boy I hope we finally get the Elder head in Cosmic Wave clear blue!!

  10. So the new wave of Glyos drops on my payday? How did you know??

    ReplyDelete
  11. I don't know why this just popped into my head, but given Old Knight and the colors... Are we looking at a possible Glyos-style Visionaries homage?

  12. We've had a lot of browns lately - any chance this one is the return of the Villser Warlord metallic root beer brown? If memory serves there was a hint back in 2017 that the Warlord wouldn't be the last we saw of that... It's hands-down my favorite of the metallics (well, besides gunmetal)!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Cosigned. Warlord root beer metallic is one helluva color.

    2. The metallic PVC in this wave is a new formula intended to look like a richer gunmetal, featuring a warmer tonality than previous "gunmetal" runs. Not unlike the Mythic Legions armored skeletons (wink-wink)!

We worked on nailing this color down with our factory over a few months until we arrived at just the right hue and metallic effect. The end result being darker than the metallic rootbeer, but slightly related in color theory.

    3. Are we getting a full array of accessories in this new Gunmetal? How about the other PVC colors? Inquiring wallet's want to know!

    4. The full array of accessories will be available in the new Gunmetal, as well as a few figures.

  13. Hoping for a mini Borg or the possibility of assembling one!

  14. Man, I am so excited for the supercray! Is this a new scuplt? If you please, how does the blaster arm or phase arm of the crayboth work? I've tried to research this and have not found a definitive answer. And does the Armodoc arm work the same? Thanks.

    1. The Super Crayboth is the same sculpt as before, it's just been a bit since we've released one into the wild.

Are you asking about the fiction or the function? Ha!

      Delete
    2. If Robot Mushroom is asking about the fiction, then I second a request to hear how those "blaster" arms are supposed to work.

  15. Nice way to start the year! I'm guessing that Gendrones are coming in a later wave, though?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Gendrones will return later this year, as they don't want to mess with any of the Goblerrans lurking around this wave.

      Delete
    2. Oh man, that sounds wicked, any other creatures joining forces with the Goblerran's? Neo Granthan's maybe?

      Delete
  16. I was asking about the function, but also wanted the fiction. Every good blaster needs a story, thanks.
