Thank You!!!

Thank you for warmly welcoming us back from our long winter (and spring) hibernation. The turnout for the new wave was really something special, and Michelle, Marc and I are forever grateful that your genuine interest and positive energy still flow through this entire project. We deeply, deeply appreciate that you all kept the door cracked open for when we finally wandered back in from the cold.

By now many of your packages have arrived or are in transit to their various destinations, and as of this writing, everything except what came in overnight has been sent out. Michelle and Pj really went to town for this release, processing and sorting the largest amount of orders we've ever had like a pair of cyborgs. Or maybe more like a  a pair of Sincroborgs. Massive thanks to Pj for making yet another critical assist. The Paper Palace was even reinforced for the event! TBS, Saosin and Tuxedo were all on loop.

Speaking of Sincroborgs, I hope that the new build on the block sparks some fresh creativity and brings a little fun into the mix for those that picked it up. I tried to pour an extra level of custom potential and secret discovery everywhere I could into the sculpt. That bugger now holds the record for the longest amount of hours I've ever logged into a figure project, with its actual starting point dating back to 2019 (if you nose around the blog you'll find that Sincroborg action was slowly forming in the background). The late, great Ralph and I had even worked previews of the basic design into the illustrations he did for Wave 84 and 87. He was excited to draw the new character, and enjoyed busting my chops because I had "finally sculpted some new humanoid faces". So it's only fitting that we dedicate the release of the figure (and its two humanoid faces - and some more to come) to him. I like to think that part of Ralph will live on in the Sincroborg, and at some point maybe we'll show a few of the raw drawings we sent back and forth when we were hiding bits of it in his launch work.

Looking ahead, we do have plans to do a smaller release in late July to mark our 14th year, and then hopefully another round in the fall.  It feels good to hear the engine running again, and the whole family thanks you for jump-starting our batteries and giving us a push to get back on the road.

  1. And thanks to you, as always, for reigniting the imagination and sense of child-like wonder in this old soul.

  2. It's clear that a lot went into the Sincroborg sculpt, and that it carries with it some of Ralph makes it even more special. One can only hope that, with all its build potential, it'll continue to inspire the same creative spark in others as much as Ralph's artwork has.

Here's looking forward to July and the fall...

...but one more question: just how many Exoborgs went into Gearius' new ride?

  5. I’m glad that the idea of powered mech suits is in the current zeitgeist. I can see Gearius duking it out with the ArgenesisVor like Sigourney Weaver in Aliens.
But where do the Sincroborg(s?) fit in with this.
I missed Argenesis. I usually try to build one in every color per wave where it’s feasible. I’d imagine by now that his foul influence has run from end to end over all of glyos.
Or maybe that’s just the ice cream talking.
Stay well and I look forward (with my growing army) to our next meeting.

  6. Dang, that's a beautiful build. It was great to see all the new and old releases for this wave. It's definitely a spark I've been needing.

  7. I'm a relative newcomer to glyos as I only started collecting back in March 2020. I have to say this is easily my favorite release so far. A part of me feels sad for all the years I wasn't aware of glyos and all the beautiful figures I missed out on. Another part of me is so happy because I feel like I've come in at the best time. Please keep doing what you do and I promise I'll keep showing up. Cheers!

  8. Matt, in my mind you never left so there is no need to welcome you back at all. I know that I can’t buy something in every drop like I used to be 13 years ago when we started collecting, but I still watch every drop and update the store to see what sells out first. 😁 Glyos connects me to a very special and happy time in my life and I will hold on to it for as long as I possibly can.

Total side note, I need to repair an origin armodoc, is there a specific glue anyone recommends for the job? I was planning to use gorilla super glue unless I hear anything different.

    1. There's a great video by the Crafsman on tough glues.

I haven't tried it with Vinyl, but Loctite Gel Control works great on PVC and has even show major resistance to reattaching pegs to broken glyos heads.

  10. LISTEN PEEPS, TOYFINITY IS MAKING THEIR LAST BATCH OF ROBO FORCE. They're holding a preorder for five figures: FINAL MAXX ZERO, FINAL NAZGAR, and their respective blank variants. I've gotten mine, and you'd best get your own, too!

  12. You talk about this being an antiquated merhodcommunication, but their is no other way to communicate with you. Over 3 months and nothing. If your done, then you are done. It's okay.........Just let people know.

    1. I understand your annoyance, but we have to stay strong. Matt and everyone else are very busy people, having to make figures for thousands of customers. You know they have to feel guilty about not getting Wave 91 out on time too, so it's best not to harp on them for being late, even if it has been over two months. Plus, Ralph's passing really hit harder than anyone in the fanbase could imagine, with him being a massive part of the company, and family. As I said, I'm sure we all want Glyos to return soon, but it is very hard to maintain a small company in the midst of a pandemic, along with all the other horrible things that happened lately. We must be forgiving.

    2. I love this line and I'll always love this line. I'm trying to be patient, I really am. I know there has to be a lot going on behind the scenes beyond that of which we're aware that is slowing things down. That being said, I don't think a little update is that big of an ask especially since we were expecting to hear something in late July for the anniversary.

    3. David this is exactly my point. I was raised on the belief that "people will always do what is important to them". Obviously, communication to everyone isn't important. I get that there are things going on. That's the same for everone during these covid times. It still hasn't stopped every other creator from keeping fans updated......

    1. I came here today intending to post a similar question. It's been an unusually long time. It's not the new wave of figures we are thinking about at this point.
