Affected Connections

Suit up and explore the Wreckage Nexus,
this Sunday, February 23rd at 9:30PM EST!

To kick off our first wave of 2025, we're trying something a little different. Check out the link below for a "bridge comic' that we worked on with the ever-impressive Dillon Wheelock, which sets the stage for Wave 105 while also delving deeper into the Dark Vortex. Have fun!

    1. As a little sub-theme for 2025, we're going to try and have $10 Pheydens available regularly, sporting the more basic color layouts as a tip of the hat to the early days. A low impact and coordinated Council of Travelers that you can assemble from an easy starting point and adventure with.

There are some other significant projects unfolding this year that will examine Pheyden in pretty interesting ways.

  2. Well, that escalated quickly. Great monster build there from the last wave. The last page I swear feels like the end of an old DBZ episode with Goku and friends awaiting the horror of a new 30 episode fight arc they just trained for. Lol.

I'll start with the standard, any guest crossovers this around? Also I don't think the Armorvor have managed to make an appearance since the Intruders began their invasion.

    1. That phone autocorrect will be the death of me. Just when you think you found them all...

    2. There will be a couple crossover parts in the lineup, with the color selections (and story arc) actually connecting directly to some upcoming new action over at the Toyfinity.

  3. Really enjoying the ongoing story line from these lovely comics! Any hope for glyans this drop after being throughly spoiled last time?

    1. I'm happy you're liking the comics! Dillon was definitely sent from some kind of Art Paradise to share his talents with all of us. I think the comic you'll see tonight is some of his best work yet!

Glyans will indeed be present, in DSG form!

  4. I see that Rig and Block floating out in space… I pray they signal a return to vinyl one day.

    1. No actual vinyl in this wave, but don't rule it out for 2025 (I know we keep saying this).

Dillon joked that all the vinyl must have fallen into the Dark Vortex, eventually arriving in the Wreckage Nexus to taunt diehard readers.

  5. Loving the comic and the combiner build. Is this the Sincroborgs showing more of the powers that make them important in Glyos? And will there be anything else "a little different" about this drop, are the trio arriving in the final panel familiar faces?

    1. I really appreciate your questions about the ongoing stories. The fusion abilities of the Sincroborg race will definitely factor more and more into not only the waves, but also the comics. Their connections to the Renegades will be explored and how they also relate to the original creation of Gendrones.

The "imperfect paradigm" asymmetrical segmented aesthetic is really one of my favorite things to tinker with, dating back to when I was young. It's an interesting style to work with, especially as the eyesight devolves. There's a meditative quality to sculpting in that style by hand, half following a drawing and half rolling with what the sculpt is telling you to do.

  6. I see someone/thing perched upon that spiral comet. If my brain is big enough I may be able to imagine what that being might look like. Any further intrusions this wave? Seems like the Glyos system has been inundated w/ a slew of new life forms as of late. Could the new unfolding bring more danger for Pheyden and friends? Curious if the Delphi have anything to contribute? -Witchwitchwitch

    1. All the faces in this wave are familiar, but you will see a new special build to play with, channeling the vibes of an older concept and core look, but with different parts. Kind of a MK II approach. Think "Bulker Suit".

    2. Sounds beefy,That paired with Toyfinty parts? Reminds me of those Gendrone Force Defender's from years back.

    3. Uses a solid mix of Toyfinity beef tech.

  7. Happy to see more of Dillon's artwork, and having a comic instead of more traditional teasers is just as rad! Can't wait to see what's in store for the trio of Travelers...

    1. Kind of fresh starting point to put together a new group of "classic" looking Travelers.
