  1. Am I reading the description/part count correctly that the new 'vors won't have an armored helmet or the mini backpack for the moment?

    1. The Liocarrus head has indeed replaced the Vortrooper head and backpack.

      It's a complex little noggin!

  2. Awesome wave sir, love the call backs to Ballim and Eclipse Pheyden with these Mk 2 and Mk 3 figures. There were so many unique and fun colorways in those early days of Glyos, it always brings a smile to see them come back into the mix. The lion head looks great all painted up, love the eyepatch and I'll definitely be on board for a Pirate Leo colorway in the future!

    1. Have to echo everything ‘ok Bahgy said. And it’s especially fun to see all the details of the new head. Eye see Lio’s got a scar on the right. The skullcap has some dna of old Vor helmet, w/ a little Neo Granthan in it, or am I just imagining that? Either way fun to study the sculpting every now and then…Witchwitchwitch

    2. Thanks guys, it's deeply appreciated that you both see into the deeper layers.

The original "Liocarrus" sculpt was created by the legendary Jason Frailey back in April 2012 and was technically the second "animal" head that he did after the original wolf, which means it's truly tied to the very beginning of the Armorvor development.
We ping ponged some of the helm concepts around back then, but Jason was responsible for the core look and vibe.

Click on the link to his old blog on the side to your right and scroll through his entries. A literal treasure trove of a creative genius at work.

All these years later I took one of the Hansen casts and cleaned, tightened and modified the head for full production, also adding the optional glue-on patch, following Jason's style. We ended up having to separate the final pattern into five separate parts to make everything work and keep the flowing hair and deeper grooves intact. Hence the loss of the backpack and Vortrooper head. Five new mold cavities had to be cut into Armorvor Mold 1 to bring everything together in the end.

  4. Those colors on Liocarrus look really awesome, and it's always nice to see the fully unmasked Venjorun head again. Bit of a shame to see that the Vortrooper head and Armorvor backpack are pretty much retired now, especially the latter. Was actually reminiscing about that Axovor build earlier today and loved how having that on the chest gave the torso a really nice look compared to the rubsign-esque piece.

Surprised to see an all new colorway for the third 'vor, was convinced that it'd tie into a previously released one from last year like Phrangoss or Origin. Hopefully Ultra Gold gets to be this year's overarching low paint colorway for the year in the same way Buildborn was (and here's hoping for the return of a certain rubber hose limbed Beanbotic Gendrone one of these days...).

    1. After 14 years and 3 previous mold modifications, it felt like it was time to shuffle some parts in the main Armorvor mold one more time to bring Liocarrus to life.

There is more on the horizon for the Armorvor as well, so maybe you'll see some new mechanical parts that you might dig.
