Hades MK III Redux

Thank you for the comments and emails regarding the idea of running Hades MK III again!

In response to the positive feedback, we will indeed be putting Hades back into production, with an estimated release date of mid to late April. We may also add a subtle extra paint mask for the new edition, to add just a little bit of spice.

Along with Hades, we are also preparing a run of the Lost Sincroid Army in the old Rechlen and Aves inspired colors for late Spring. The plan is to make this version of the LSA an unlimited figure, so if you want more than one, the option will remain well beyond the release night -with no ordering restrictions. This line of thinking continues the long term plan of adding "Standard" colors to the store that are designed to last. It's a little risky, but so far the Standard Pheyden and Reverse Pheyden have each earned their keep and continue to modestly chug along.

Speaking of Standard Editions, what would you like to see produced?

Also, almost every order since last Sunday's release has been processed, packed and shipped, with our last run to the post coming bright and early tomorrow morning.

Thanks as always for such dedicated support. It's your honesty and enthusiasm that continue to inspire our little team, no matter what gets thrown in our way.

  1. Speaking of Rechlen and Aves, will we ever see them in any figure size?

Otherwise, I'm in love with the idea of the LSA being long term store members. Will we see the return of the Nobotos head, maybe?

    1. The LSA in their original colors will hopefully find a good rhythm with everybody, even though they are pretty strange. Our goal is to have no limits when they do pop up in the store.

The Standard and Reverse LSA will be tri-color swapped, with two tone green bodies and yellow heads. They will be fully detail lined and also have some additional painted parts.

Over the coming week we'll actually get to see what some of these new painted areas in combination with detail lines look like, in the form of an all new version of Commander Sullkren, who is on track to appear later this month.

  2. Wow, so much good news in one little post! I'm super juiced to hear about the LSA. As for standard figures, I personally would like to see a return of the Rig Crew colorways.

    1. Noted, Dex! We get a fairly good amount of requests for the old Rig Crew color combo. Might be neat to see Gearius return with an all new team.

  3. If anyone else deserves a Standard Edition in my own little world, it'd be Argen in some kind of silver. When I first got into Glyos, his plot thread really hooked me into the overall omni-fiction. That and the Gendrone Revolution was my first dropnight experience, hehe.

    1. Argen's "Standard" color always drifts back to silver for me as well. That being said, over the years I've imagined that Argen's colors would change in relation to the different periods of his life and what he was "feeling" during those times. Aves had a similar color change ability, which was emotionally triggered.

  4. I would love standard Phanost, maybe with a Phosis Sarvos hanging out too, since the extra parts would be there.
This is great news, it'll be nice to have standard figures for everyone, so you can line them all up!
One thing I would REALLY like is a Buildman in the old old Rechlen and Aves buildman colors.

    1. Buildman in the patchwork color combo? I came so close to pulling the trigger on a wave like that in the past. It was going to be a run of upscaled resin R&A style Buildman heads combined with a smaller customized run of Buildman bodies. One of many lost CC concepts that never materialized!

In a roundabout way, you can make those Jumble color builds with the various metallic Argens from the last few years.

  5. I think standard versions of figures is a fantastic idea. I am so glad to hear you guys are moving forward with this idea. I'm also really glad that people get another shot at Hades. You guys are the best!!

    1. Thanks Shiggy! We're shooting for an eventual fully painted and detail lined assortment of Standard figures that represent the various characters in their "main" forms from the Passcodes and comics. It will take some time, but that's still the plan!

  6. I think crayboth would do well as a standard in the store. It would make it easy to army build the swarm

  7. Very excited to hear that the LSA are coming! Looking forward to that drop. So far as standards go, would love to see a standard buildman in the original standard tan/brown scheme. Maybe using that awesome brown that TGB used on his Kabuto Mushi. A standard Sarvos would be welcome too, I've always liked that light colored head and dark eyes of the original.
Speaking of Sarvos, will clear versions of him or Gobon ever make it into the buildstation?
Looking forward to getting this round of stuff, thanks for keeping this crazy corner of the universe going. You guys remain the best!

    1. The metallic brown from Marty's Kabuto Mushi will appear, hopefully before the end of 2014. That was a really neat hue!

A Clear Colorless version of Gobon is on schedule for the next Buildstation restock, sometime in the early summer. Clear Sarvos/Phanost as well.

There is a new version of Commander Sullkren coming later this month that you may get a kick out of, seeing as you seem to like the old muted tones of the original Sarvos.

      Thanks for the input!

  8. Great news, and thanks for trying it out with us!

In terms of Standards, Sarvos would be my pick, especially because of all the memories with it. (Same goes for Hybrid Sarvos, even though that is not a Standard.)

Having a standard Noboto and Gobon pair would also be welcome, especially given their history and the personalities built-in to the sculpts!

    1. I'll second the support for Standard Sarvos colorway, with the new paint mask, that would be awesome. I've got a dream of recreating the old blog pic with a group of Sarvos behind Pheyden, I'm just a couple Sarvos short now :)

    2. Allow me to revise: if you want to consider the silver from this drop to be Standard-worthy, it has my vote.

    3. Man, I have such strong memories of when I saw the first full production PVC Standard Sarvos figures (not just test shots) back in September 2008 at the factory.

Spending time working on the production line was a real eye opener and taught me a ton about the realities of making this stuff.

I absolutely want to bring back that first color style, and sort of channeled the original hue into Sullkren.

Standard Exellis MK II and Standard Sarvos were to share a swapped palette as far as color choices go,

  9. You had me at LSA

As for who I'd love to see make an appearance: Ranic Phayden & Dormaco/ Comrado Color Ways & Solaris

    1. Ranic! That's a color combo that I carried around with me for a long time. The connections to the first production Ranic Buildman go all the way back to the old Microshow booklet.

I imagine that the Standard Buildman would be in the Ranic colors, whereas Argen would probably be in silver.

  10. Standard DELPHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. DELPHI Please! Lol, wasnt he teased over a year ago or longer as the next production figure?

    1. The Delphi have not been forgotten, though they have had to find a new place in the production schedule.

Designing just the right balance for the parts (old and new) has been the main challenge.

Certain aspects of the core look are tied to existing parts, so upgrading the configuration is a bit like the Hub Set advancing the Glyan and Phaseon, with a number of factors to consider.

We're definitely working to make sure those oddballs find their way into production!

  12. Hands down for a new run of Standard my vote goes to Sarvos! And Reverse/Source versions wouldn't turn me off, either.

  13. Please please please rechlen and aves!!!!!!!! These are the figures I am always waiting for!

  14. The LSA showing up in the original colors is great news. The fact that they will be unlimited "Standard" editions is even better. Ever since the mold surfaced I've been worried that the color would show up during a big drop and I would only be able to grab one before they disappeared for good. Thanks for nipping that concern in the bud.

The return of Hades Mk III is also great. I was able to snag him, but I know a lot of people weren't as fortunate. But I'm wondering about the possible "subtle extra paint mask." Isn't that likely to cause people that were able to get one from the first run to try to get one of these too, possibly causing people to miss out for a second time? Although, I guess that wouldn't be a problem if he came back as an unlimited "Standard" figure, as well...

  15. Thanks Matt and crew!!. Glyos just keep getting more awesome, and it's fun to build with my son.

  16. Delphi please! And if possible Chaos heads?

  17. The original silver plastic with black detail lines was what hooked me into the Glyos world, I love the look of that stuff and it's mostly woefully hard to find these days. I'd love to see that become a standard color.

  18. Great news on the Hades return and the upcoming LSA release. Truly exciting. I may be in the minority, but I think some heads/characters should only be used for special releases/CCs. Heads like Chaos, Hermit, and maybe even Delphi should be reserved for special occasions. Part of the original draw to Glyos for me was the mystery on drop night and trying to hunt down heads that weren't in production.

    1. i gotta respectfully disagree. The Delphi are about as scarce as hen's teeth. they go for almost $200 on the aftermarket. i think this is one character that everyone should be able to enjoy without selling a first born child. I agree with Hermit and Chaos tho. Delphi has been in the passcodes. he needs a figure now. it could even be something that Matt could decide to rarely release, but i would love to have a production version.

Maybe one too many trips through the Edge of Space added a few extra lines (and weird turtleneck) to old Ex!

  20. More Gobons, and bring back Phanost exclusives!

  21. I forgot to chime in with what I wanted to see as a Standard Edition. Not that it is much different from what other people are saying; Phanost, Argen, Sarvos, Exellis... basically any character that has a unique mold or had a prominent role in any of the Passcodes or comics. I guess you can include stuff like Dark Scar Pheyden, Agent Nemica and the like.

Which brings us to Govurom. As I understand it, that head was replaced in the mold with the scarf, but I'd love to see it make a comeback as a non-custom release in Cliffs of Granthan colors. Maybe using a new, two-part head? Hey, who else is going to fight my (upcoming) LSA army? :)

And that makes me wonder about another thing. If we were to receive a Standard Edition Argen or Exellis, would they end up with the new heads? Don't get me wrong; I love the new heads. It would just feel a little weird.

    1. As the new Argen/Buildmen are coming with three heads, I'm guessing any standard version would, too.

    2. Ha ha... having just gotten in my order, I see that you are right. Was that shown or confirmed before? For some reason, I was thinking the head was a replacement, rather than an addition. Oh, well. It's all good. Bring on the Standard Argen!

  24. Hi Matt, I want to thank you for the idea of "standard editions" for the Glyos characters, as a new & enthusiastic collector of Glyos, this is exactly what I am looking for, to get the named characters in their original/similar color types to start my collection! =)

  25. Maybe something in dark blue plastic?
Saw some older pic and I'm loving that color.
