UPDATE: The release date has been bumped to MONDAY, December 16th at 9:30PM EST! Customs decided to have some holiday playtime with the new stuff before sending it along.
Also are we looking at huge assortment this wave or will it be a little lighter set of offerings, so that us holiday shoppers can rest easy that our families wont disown us?
The assortment is about the usual size we've been offering, but the production runs have been increased to hopefully balance out the recent spike in action. We'll see how it turns out!
Hoping the Armorvor Kugarrec will have the extra head pack for the drop. I need that "Stupid fish" head for the growing team. It's all about the jaw action.
100% on multiple Glyans to mix up with the Armorvors, with the new (old) beasts taking a page from the "Mimic" themes of shared colors for expanded building options.
Two complete sets of accessories will also be available to match the figure selections.
Kind of a Buildstation Plus vibe in some respects happening with this wave.
There is a Pheyaos coming that is clear orange with paint apps, 95% certain its the same color. My guess is the black accessories coming with match the black pj used.
The upcoming Pheyaos does indeed have a matching base clear orange PVC color to the recent killer Geo that Pj released. This color was intentionally selected for cross building fun!
Will there be any unpainted Pheyaos(es)? Whats the plural for Pheyaos? I wouldn't mind seeing a Molten lava version of Skeleden with panel lines to match that Geodraxus Molterros.
The Gendrones are resting up for their return in 2020.
The main project I've been working on over here actually has some deep connections to that gang and was designed by the left hand but sculpted with the right, just like the original Buildman.
Though I do love the Hexbug space toys, the new wave did not draw any inspiration from it. We were thinking more of a mixture between Reydurran and Frontier, with a dash of EMD.
I recently picked up a few Diaclone figures and it's mind blowing how small the pilots are, but still have a fair amount of articulation. I recall you mentioning that those little hijackers would be just 1" tall and fit in Pheyden's palm.
The new project has connections to the little guys, but is its own thing. There's some deep callbacks in the design.
The hijacking miscreants were built with four intended points of articulation with fit functions, but pulling it off in full production may not fly. Still messing around with the dimensions on them.
I'm new to Glyos figs and Onell. God I hope I can get in on some of these! How early to do I have to be ready to go? Do I need to camp out in front of my computer?
Kind of, but not quite! Stock usually lasts for an hour or two after the drop, this in combination with increased production numbers means you'll probably be set as long as you can be ready to order when the drop happens. If you use Discord, I could give you an invite link to the Glyos server. We tend to do voice chat/general chat during drop nights.
(To further clarify, the store isn't sold out after an hour or two- Most figures last a few days to a couple weeks, but the stars of a given wave will get a lot more attention)
Those OSM figures have female fit functions on the bottoms of their feet, so you could potentially build stands from other Glyos compatible lines if you wanted to. Or keep an eye out for stands with a 4mm pin to use.
I had been following the Onell Design website for quite a while before taking the plunge into collecting after the armorvor was first released. It was the nostalgia of BattleBeasts combined with that Venjorun colorway... a figure I still do not own. Assuming that this is Venjorun, will his original red/grey colorway return as well.
This Armorvor is 100% connected to Venjorun, though not to those original colors, as some of his children don't necessarily share his affinity for red hues.
Hi Tad! If it's the bigger guys - Cyclops and Colossus Rex in particular - I'd advise skipping disc-based footpeg stands entirely and look into smaller metal doll stands at craft stores. Usually the problem comes from the hip joints being stiff, but not stiff enough for time (and often heat) to keep them upright. By supporting their upper bodies, they're less likely to dive off your shelves. The same is true for some Marvel Legends, Black Series, and other large figures - there are many joints, all of which just need to sag enough to throw off the center of gravity. And then timberrrrrrr.
Also there were some Four Horsemen-developed block stands a few years ago, sadly these did not make it to market.
Looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gary!
DeleteYESSS! The rumors about Venjorun were true! Any LSA or Villser this round? I'm still anticipating those add on parts for the Villser.
ReplyDeleteAlso are we looking at huge assortment this wave or will it be a little lighter set of offerings, so that us holiday shoppers can rest easy that our families wont disown us?
DeleteThe assortment is about the usual size we've been offering, but the production runs have been increased to hopefully balance out the recent spike in action. We'll see how it turns out!
DeleteThough slow but steady progress has been happening in both their respective tweaks, the LSA and Villser will be offworld this time.
DeleteNaturally, another project has also taken center stage behind the scenes over here that's really been an interesting production challenge.
Hoping the Armorvor Kugarrec will have the extra head pack for the drop. I need that "Stupid fish" head for the growing team. It's all about the jaw action.
ReplyDeleteMatching head packs will be available for both Armorvors in the wave. The stupid fish awaits your hook!
DeleteThat fish head is like one of my most favorite things ever!
DeleteAwesome. This will be the first drop from on the road in awhile so hopefully the phone is up to the battle.
DeleteWill we be seeing an opposing force to combat the Vors? Maybe with some Glyans?
ReplyDeleteThere is a glyan in the same colorway

Dare I ask it... will there be black swing joints?!!
DeleteAll the accessories will actually be available in black this time, and in greater abundance.
DeleteWith possibly seeing Venjorun returning with the Vors, are their creators far behind?
ReplyDeleteBuidstation Plus? Interesting. And the orange is promising, too.
ReplyDeleteActually, are we seeing a similar colorway to PJ's latest drop?
There is a Pheyaos coming that is clear orange with paint apps, 95% certain its the same color. My guess is the black accessories coming with match the black pj used.

DeletePheyaos will also have an simplified version available, with only the eyes painted as per usual.
DeleteOld Skeleden is a panel line nightmare, but maybe at some point that bony bad boy will get the treatment again, just not this time.
The preview pieces at dcon reminded me of Mraedis Agents, which look like they match the hexbug toyline, happy accident?
ReplyDeleteAlways bet on black. Hopefully the mania of the holiday season finds you well. Black is a good Christmas color.
ReplyDeleteAny gendrone action this time around? Perhaps even the return of the dreaded stealth gobon?
The Gendrones are resting up for their return in 2020.
ReplyDeleteThe main project I've been working on over here actually has some deep connections to that gang and was designed by the left hand but sculpted with the right, just like the original Buildman.
Do you ever draw with your right hand?
Though I do love the Hexbug space toys, the new wave did not draw any inspiration from it. We were thinking more of a mixture between Reydurran and Frontier, with a dash of EMD.
DeleteThe laat time I did any writing with my right hand was when I signed in at the ER after wrapping my left hand around a running chainsaw.
DeleteBefore that...probably when the Salvation Army tried to fix me in nursery school. I’ve always been sinister.
Does this new project relate in anyway to those micro gendrone hijacking figures you mentioned a while back?
DeleteI recently picked up a few Diaclone figures and it's mind blowing how small the pilots are, but still have a fair amount of articulation. I recall you mentioning that those little hijackers would be just 1" tall and fit in Pheyden's palm.

Also, Diaclone rules.
Deletethe Diaclone comments make me wonder if the new project is related to David White's Mecha Zone Glyos project 🤔
DeleteWait a second... Matt, are we talking the possibility of Diaclone-esque Glyos mini figures???
DeleteLooks like another homerun my old friend can't wait!

DeleteThere's a Glyos discord!??!
DeleteYeah, I'd be interested in hearing more about this Discord too!
DeleteHere's the link! https://discord.gg/Cg94JVj
DeleteHow many PVC colors are we looking at and can we expect to see a few figures in that blue glow?
ReplyDeleteFour colors for the PVC count, with no blue glow (that's another wave unto itself).
DeleteAny chance of some Vinyl surprises?
DeleteNo vinyl this time, only PVC action.
DeleteWill we be getting any translucent Glyans this round, maybe something to match that Pheyaos?
DeleteAlso curious, will this round will contain a mystery figure?
DeleteNo translucent Glyans or Mystery figures in this wave.
DeleteWhat a turn! it's really cool that he survived and the news of the passing decade we will remember for a long time
ReplyDeleteGround Wolf!!!
ReplyDeleteI Freaking Love it, Matt you are seriously pulling on my heart strings with these new Armorvors.
Question: are there any good Glyos-compatible foot stands or bases that I can use to keep my OSM females from falling down all the time?
ReplyDeleteThose OSM figures have female fit functions on the bottoms of their feet, so you could potentially build stands from other Glyos compatible lines if you wanted to. Or keep an eye out for stands with a 4mm pin to use.
DeleteAny crossovers this time round?
ReplyDeleteNo crossovers in this wave.

DeleteThis drop must be extra amazing if customs didn't want to let it go.

Besides what looks to be a new Armorvor head, any other new tooling this go around?
