Slightly knocked off course at the start of the week thanks to a wretched flu* that hit the household here pretty hard. I guess that I should not abuse poor Pheyden or I'll bring on the wrath of the Toy Lords again. Thankfully we are all feeling good enough to get back to it, so the next few days will see a few rounds of updates, showing some new builds that take advantage of the black, white and gray parts.Most importantly are the assortment specifics, so here we go:

This one was tough to choose for the method of release, but it makes the most sense to offer the figures in their solid color form to make getting the parts you guys need easier without having to always buy 3 guys to make one color.

Continuing the efforts to keep options easy and relatively cheap, we will be offering extra sets instead of the Echo Morph this time.

We have decided not to spring anything on you guys as far as additional offerings this time, but we are working on a mini project that hopefully will be ready to roll when we release this weekend. Final drop date will be announced tomorrow by the end of the day, but it will either be Saturday night or Sunday night, depending on how we all hold up.

This is all beautiful and as always very exciting...I have to admit it feels expensive to be paying $8 for unlined Traveler blanks.
ReplyDeleteNot that I'm complaining, I can't pretend to know what goes on behind the scenes and the overhead of having your business be your source of income to keep you whole family fed.
It may just be that the gendrones have spoiled me with all their unpainted tons-of-parts-for-cheap goodness.
I know that I will nevertheless have a bunch of stuff I have to get!
I am so freakin' geared up for this, hoping to score the RIG, Armodoc and what I need to make Command Pheyden that night, then I can replenish my $$$ and score a bunch of building bits a little later. Higher production numbers means stuff in stock longer and that is awesome.

ReplyDeleteNo Exellis is a bummer, he's my favorite. I'd love to have a 'blank' one of him to customise rather than paint over a pre-existing style. Love all the choices here though, definitely gonna get an Armodoc (finally!) and a few other parts.

ReplyDeleteAs far as the pricing goes on Travelers, $8 has been the standard for them for quite some time, lined and unlined. Classified, Enforcer and all the recent clear stuff fall under the same category. By keeping the price at a steady $8 across the styles for the Travelers we do not have to raise the price for when we do lined versions.
The reason we sell the Gendrones at a cheaper price is to have something on the menu that gives high building potential at a solid lower cost. Our profit margin on Gendrones would make most "businessmen" weep at how thin it is.
I have tried to tweak the price of the Travelers before, but costs are not going down in China, they are only headed up. We'll keep the prices you are used to until it is absolutely not possible to maintain them. Only then will they have to be changed.
My goal is to stay consistent and predictable with our prices, and to that end I think we have been relatively successful.
To Jason S., there is indeed a white Exellis in this wave. You may have missed him hidden in that mountain of text up there.

ReplyDeleteSince I found glyos I have been hooked. Nothing is as easy or fun to customize and why should I buy a 1:18 scale from hasbro for the same price? Glyos is much more worth while.
When classifieds and the enforcer were around I bought them, I just kinda wondered about the price point, but now I know(and knowing is...)!
Interesting about the gendrones, I appreciate and feel even more spoiled by them than I did before! I must say I also worship at the alter of the founders, may they never run out.
Also, the more and more I look over the list of new stock stuff...man alive I wish I had more monies!

ReplyDeleteMan I wish I wasn't so broke. I need a better job to support my Glyos habbit. This is looking like the first wave ever, where I want EVERY single thing on the menu!! (and like 5 copies of some things and a mountain of the axis joints)...but the job market is tough on new grads unfortunately....
ReplyDeleteBut I digress...the list says the Grey extra set has a Sarvos head with white eyes, and I see a Grey Sarvos w/ black eyes, which is the first time I think we've ever had the same color head of a character, w/ a choice of eye color...and I want both styles!!!

ReplyDeleteThe Gray Extra Set contains Pheyden parts along with a Govurom and Scar Pheyden head. The gray complete figure being released is where you can track down old Sarvos w/black painted eyes and bonus Phanost head w/white painted eyes. I think that damn word pile was a little tough to decipher! Sorry about that!
I can't wait to build the heck out of some 'nauts!
