Accompanying Toyfinity's new crimson "Hunter" Neo Zeroid release will be the first edition of the collaboratively produced Darkness Soldier! Based on the original S.T.A.R. Team Knight of Darkness design that was brought to market back in 1977 by Ideal to capitalize on the Star Wars craze, the Darkness Soldier concept has been percolating behind the scenes for quite some time.
We'll pop up a couple posts here on the blog about the development of the Darkness Soldier as we lead up to Toyfinity's launch this Friday night!
Looking forward to darkness soldier development info! Hope there are some sweet sketches!
ReplyDeleteHey Jared! There are definitely a few older sketches on deck to share.
DeleteRalph also did a batch of concept drawings back when we were working on the early stages of "Project X" in 2012 that were truly off the charts.
We had a lot of fun throwing ideas around during that process.
Oh I've seen some things;) nice to see your take on the designs!
DeleteAwesome!!! Love these guys! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Nate! The original design from way back in the late 70's really resonated with me when I was young. A lasting impression to say the least!
DeleteThe darkness soldiers look awesome and I love the title to this post. It reminds me of a movie I really enjoy.
ReplyDeleteWould that movie happen to have an amazing soundtrack?
DeleteBeyond the Black Rainbow!!! Is one killer sound track indeed!
DeleteThat's it! Love it and I was just listening to the soundtrack the other day!
DeleteIt's close enough to Beyond the Black River for me.
ReplyDeleteCurious, will there be spare heads for the Knight of Darkness?
ReplyDeleteBecause a Varteryx head in that Red and White could be an amazing bonus!
DeleteThe extra noggin is the standard Glyan head. To keep the price right, we scrapped the extra Glyarmor heads and focused on the Knight for these special editions.
