Nate's Take

Ran a little late getting this up, but we were on a shipping roll.

When I first opened this file I was stunned by how convincingly the image that appeared was rendered. There is so much depth and subtle detail , that it's easy to become a little hypnotized by Nate's incredible workmanship. A true digital wizard at work.

Check out those Mini Rigs and DSGs getting geared up near their camp, and that flying Hub Drone formation! I especially love the Travelers reviewing what looks like a holo-map. If only they knew what they were getting themselves into....

Thank you Nate, for taking the time to create such a mesmerizing piece. I swear, this is the lost cover to a Glyos sci-fi novel from another dimension.

What a beauty!

  1. Wow, I'm speechless.
No wonder if many of my favourite MOTU arts are from you Nate!
Any chance to get prints or wallpaper sized ones?

  2. O_O Wow...that's epic Nate, fantastic job sir! I always loved paintings like this, they really ARE like windows to worlds that you can get lost in. Beautiful, beautiful work man. :-D

And yes Matt I agree on your lost novel cover from another dimension, I often wonder what stuff would be like in another dimension; like a dimension where MotU didn't end & continued with the Powers of Grayskull line, or if we got a 2nd Season of Inhumanoids complete with Sssslither, Gagoyle & other unproduced characters. Ah to dream...

  4. Wow. There's a lot of imagination in this, full of so many nice little touches and details that it makes the vastness of the alien landscape seem so much more real. It'd be wonderful to see a whole series of these, one for each arc of the storyline: the wastes of Nemica, save for two lone Travelers and a glistening Gobon; one for Granthan, depicting the doomed mission just before the awakening of the Armodocs; one for Volkria, a Delphi ruin overgrown with flora and fauna as Phaseon Evolvers survey the grounds . . . a whole plethora, really.

Oh, and to add my voice to the chorus: it'd be great to see this as a print!

  5. I'll be the forth to give a YAY for releasing iphone/desktop/android wallpaper and a print. I would love to have that mounted with my Glyos collection.

It truly is a wondrous piece of art full of depth, motion and conveys a great sense of excitement and anticipation of what they might find. Bravo, Nate!

  9. Thanks for the great response all! I've been asked, and I'm sure Matt's been asked... Prints.
I'm not providing prints to anyone as this is Matt's art. If he wants to make prints or give permission to print? That's up to him. Looks like the demand is there so who knows?! It never hurts to ask right?

I was and am grateful to have done this for everyone, it was so much fun to do! And I'll always set some time aside for Onell for any future work if you'll all have me. These worlds scream for visuals, Ralph does an outstanding job, and I look forward to his work with each drop as much as I look forward to the toys themselves!

Toys, comics and imagination... It doesn't get any better than that!
