Peach Clipper

Spotted this little one while walking this morning.

After it buzzed by my head a few times it eventually landed on a leaf right in front of me, just in time for a close up.

    Beautiful pic of beautiful predator. Up North they mature about 2 weeks later than the mosquitoes; then we can go outside again ;)

    Funny how those things work out sometimes. I miss having them flying around, although trading them for fireflies where we are now doesn't seem so bad...

    ...except for all the blasted mosquitoes, of course.
