1. Ehhhhh

Not a big fan of this paint application. Everything else is so perfect but then there's that visor...

    1. Hey Joe! You could always swap out for a Varteryx head or Pheyden head, which are both included with the figure.

I've been wanting to do this version of the Glyarmor since the prototyping stage, so it's truly a personal choice (coming from a huge Takara fan) on that visor paint application.

      Thanks Joe!

    2. It also hopefully appeals a little to your sense of old school sci-fi gonzo alien humor.

Or maybe I'm just getting too old!

    3. I'm getting a little more used to it. I think it's just how out of place the colors are. It's a little too goofy for me when the rest of the figure looks like the most BA thing we've ever gotten.

I also read your comment about a Zaku homage. Now THAT would be a mono eye homage I could easily enjoy. Ironically I'm working on a Zaki model right now.

  2. Oh awesome!! That's a really cool way to use that visor, I gotta grab this guy now. What toy is this paying homage to Matt, if it;s a Japanese toy that would explain why I don't recognize it. Nice work sir! Love the Jell-O set too, reminds me of the old days of Onell when you guys made other jello sets. Damnit, now I want Jell-O...

    1. Hey Chris! Adding the mono eye (Glyclops!) to the orange sparkle Glyarmor pays homage to the old Myclone series by Takara from 2002.

It's also a tribute to the classic Zaku design from Gundam.

The visor on the Glyarmor was sculpted to allow for various paint applications down the road, much like the Syclodoc.

    2. You just made me spit my drink out while laughing when I read this, Mr. Crockett.

      You owe me a shirt!

  3. I'm the exact opposite, I totally dig that cycloptic eye. Very different look from the previous Glyarmor drops. Also keep in mind that if your not diggin' on the Neo Sarvos head, there are 2 other heads that come with it.

Now I need to know the story behind this weirdo!

That silver paint app on the glyarmor chest piece is awesome, love the way it blends into the belt, nice work there Matt!

  5. Jello mold backdrops. The last time we saw those was on the old Voss bio-vessels! I wonder what link this mysterious "GLYCLOPS" has to those gooey guys...

  6. Definitely was not expecting that!! Very cool surprise!

  7. This thing is glorious! It's so weirdly 1950s Japanese sci-fi.

    1. I just commented on that subject up above!

    2. I could totally see this guy in a Starman movie. 'Glyclops from Dimension Zero' or something crazy like that. I'm loving all the alien homages were getting as of late.

  8. Whoa, now that has a wicked sci fi vibe to it. Really digging that eyeball! I'd like to see this appear on clear green one day. I love how Glyos can be familiar, but then a neat twist like this comes along.

  11. This reveal just made my day. I can't wait to see what else you guys have in store for us tomorrow night.

  12. Mind blowing... I have a weakness for cyclops monsters.

  13. OOOOOHHHH.....so shiny. HOW DID YOU GET HIM SO SHINY?! Good lord, I hope I'm here in time to get 'em. And a monoeye? I thank you heartily, sir! You're a gentleman and a scholar.

    1. Almost looks like a Pixar character with all that sheen and the one big eye

  14. I love it! Will this also come with the Varteryx head?

    1. The Glyclops does come with the Varteryx and Pheyden heads.

  15. So, this is the reference for this guy? (Specifically, in the bottom group, middle figure.)

If so, will the rest of this drop be similar homages? Because those MR androids look pretty solid...

    1. That's the one!

There's some great history behind that little figure, connecting directly to one of the unused original designs for the Android A (Henshin Cyborg follow up) alien bad guys called the Invaders. I really love those creepy saucer flying space goblins.

This weirdo version of the Glyarmor factors straight into some new things that are cooking behind the scenes over here right now.

As far as other homages in tonight's wave, there are definitely a few more, but probably not what you're expecting.

  16. dang glitter tranlucent, check. orange tranlucent, check. awesome crazy cyclops head, check. yep this wave has got my full and undivided attention. i don't get paid till friday tho. gonna have to be very crafty with my order to make this all work.

  17. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. That's too cool. This drop just went from "I'll log in after 9:30 to see what's there" to "Start hitting F5 at 9:25 so I can complete my order by 9:31".

  18. For whatever reason, I keep thinking of David Bowie's Sound and Vision when I see this title. Would love to see a Noboto with a lightning bolt on his face!

    1. Could be because of the Album cover for Low has a similar color scheme.

  19. Glitter figures aren't really my most-desired, then you turned that Neo Sarvos around and -- *brain: exploded* Absolutely loving the Glyclops.

    1. Thanks Cappy! I've been playing around with an Axis Armored version of the clear orange Glyclops to push the "space creature" vibe even more.

I'm happy you like this oddball!

  20. Oh brilliant, now I have to get this, and track down the Myclone! ;-)

Shades of the creatures from It Came from Outer Space too!

    1. Seth! Myclone has a ton of awesome Takara SF Land magic in it!

Beware the black hole that is the expanded Animyclone series. Takara hid some versions of the Henshin Cyborg Jaguar and even a Henshin Cyborg Condor (never produced in the original classic HC line) in the mix of standard animal figures! Super tough to track down.

    2. Oh my! Something new to research! :-)

I was on the threshold already: bought a box of Myclone animals cheap a few years back, very charming.
