As we all get ready for the Callgrim WARP Bike drop later today, I was thinking it might be fun to check out who is being carried around (if anybody is doing it) in your collective pockets.
I've been attached to the Sincroid configured Glyaxia guys in the above picture and also the White Skull Sincroid also shown above. The Glyaxia color scheme has that Commander Rann vibe happening a little more than usual in Sincroid mode, so I think that's the draw for me.
Before this batch it was the metallic green Argen in Rig Killer mode, but that was a bit much to have wedged in my pants.
Wedge+Pants=Bad.

Metran Pheyden's been growing on me for a while now.
ReplyDeleteHe's one of my faves!
I often have Axis Armored Argen Mk III on me if I'm carrying a figure around.
ReplyDeleteNot my pocket per se, but I've got a White Skull Sarvos (with some axis bits thrown in) riding around perched on my dashboard.
ReplyDeleteI've had a Pheyden created from junkshop parts in my pocket for the last couple of years but recently I added the first combat blackskull Glyan aswell :)
ReplyDeleteAves Exellis was my goto. Then came a clear Buildman with clear axis joints. Currently... I have a white Glyan, which I've stained slightly by keeping him in a black pouch. Turned out pretty neat looking.
ReplyDeleteAlways have someone in my pocket. Today it is Classified Govurom.
ReplyDeleteCrayboth with axis shoulders. Colors vary from day to day.
ReplyDeleteVarious Crayboth in rotation : )
ReplyDeleteI'm the sentimental sort: "My first" is usually my favorite. Bios goes with me everywhere, courtesy of his handy dandy "travel capsule:" http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/dexantares/Onell%20Designs/Photo1178.jpg
ReplyDeleteI really oughtta find a way to do a TARDIS shaped version!
I love reading about what you guys carry around! Thanks for the info so far!
ReplyDeleteAnother figure that I had been keeping with me a lot was a special all black Glyan (the character Cane from the Reflex story in my tiny mind) that I gave a matte/gloss paint job while we were in China. Unfortunately he went missing early last week, lost somewhere between Jesse's spare bedroom and Marc's car. Curses!
You saw my tweaked Volkriun Glyan at NYCC, he is usually with me. This week though I have nothing in the pockets. Everything is packed up for the move. Would not be happy if some one disappeared in the transition.
ReplyDeleteI always keep one of my own Glyan builds on me. Its definitely a riff off your Sincroid build with the Glyan, just with more articulation added.

I carry one of these two everywhere I go. Usually the Sincroid variant.
Lately I typically carry around a beefed up Traedian Deep Hunter Division Glyan with a green phase-arm to make him look a bit like Samus from Metroid. Most of the time though, I have my own blue canne'boid from my first release, Ny'cck who lost a hand at NYCC this year (hence his name) He's been my pocket buddy most days, and now he's all beefed up in Glyaxia Command yellow (his skin color already makes up the blue LoL) and ready to rip apart some gendrones. I keep re-configuring his right arm as it's not quite right yet. Here's a pic of the 3 Glyos dudes currently rockin' in my pockets.

I keep a Bio Pheyden build (from the early blog posts. The one taken over by a Villser.) in my pocket at all time. There is an orange crayboth that hangs out in my truck's console.
ReplyDeleteLosing pocket figures sucks. I lost a few Battle Beast Pirate Lions in my time, but I also lost my spare Frontier Pheyden :(
ReplyDeleteweird- since Cane disappeared my car has been missing...
ReplyDeleteI just keep an assortment in my work bag at all times. Too many figures to list.
ReplyDeleteFerrum Buildman! Guy's a trooper!
ReplyDeletei was carrying this little fella in my pocket yesterday, because i wanted to show-off this design to my brother who is also into Glyos:

The links to the builds are awesome! Great choices and color combos on each design.
ReplyDeleteWe have a new "booster" pack rounding the corner that hopefully makes you guys happy. Multiple "Switch Pins" (the tiny male/male peg found inside the Glyan chest) and all new parts are on track for a January/February 2012 release. Should be fun!
I have my clear buildman with imaginary big jack gatling guns
ReplyDeleteIf we're talking actual pocket, I'm an old school guy -- the Glyans have too many joints for pocket travel. So it's usually some version of Sarvor or a Crayboth. (I could carry a different Cray' from the collective each day and still go a few months without a repeat.)
ReplyDeleteNow on the dashboard... the bigger builds get to shine, including Axis-equipped Glyans and, fairly often, custom Ophii characters.
This is the build I carry. Well, the one I was talking about earlier. It's the same build.

I don't go on vacation without a couple of glyos figures in my pocket. though I tend to mix it up for each trip. when I went to england, I took a glyan and a sarvos
ReplyDeleteI keep forgetting to update my photoblog
but I love them and like to have them handy, they keep me occupied if I start to get a little bored
If it's not the Dimension Driftin' Sarvos I made, it's been either the White Skull Sarvos or one of the bulkier Phaseon builds I've grown so fond of. Slowly, stories are starting to coalesce around those guys again...
ReplyDeleteAnd the Booster pack sounds like a great idea! I'm guessing it'll be in Buildstation standard colorways?
My Pocket-Pal (tm) is usually my Vhorren Commander Callgrim. Sorry everyone, I've joined the Jesse-Faction.
ReplyDeleteIf it isn't that figure, my pocket has been briefly occupied by either a Gray Glyan or a Black Pheyden.
Usually my girlfriend ends up SWIPING THEM FROM ME though. She is fiesty, and loves her some Glyans.
The new Booster Pack will be called the Hub Set and is slated to eventually be run in the usual Buildstation black, white, clear colorless and GITD green. When it first appears though, it will have a special purpose and build connected to it, as well as specific colors.
ReplyDeleteExploration is the main theme for 2012, in the story arcs as well as the direction for Onell in general.
Ooooooo. Looking forward to more story stuff yes very much.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info, Matt! Exploration? Sounds like an awesome theme, and really kinda appropriate for what amounts to, in many ways, a building toy. Can't wait to see what's in store!
ReplyDeleteDo not worry about cane buddy! At jesses and found him safe and sound. I flipped that bed! He will be in your hands shortly ;)
ReplyDeletePj! You are the bed flipping best! I can't believe you found that little devil!. Thanks a million for that discovery!
ReplyDeleteA parts booster showing up in the buildstation come 2012 has me pumped~ I need to make more deranged builds with wheels that turn into rolling things.
ReplyDeleteStill that watermelon trans-pink Pheyden. Dude is just so out there it's crazy.
ReplyDeleteMy first Glyos figure is still my go-to figure for traveling. Reverse Pheyden is my constant companion.
ReplyDeleteCrawdad Kid.
