Henshin Wave is Live!

In honor of the amazing creations from the past that have continued to inspire us over here time after time, we have dubbed this release the "Henshin Wave".

It was Takara after all, that really opened up the craziness of clear plastic aliens and heroes for many old time collectors out there today. We also have to give props to Mel Birnkrant and his always impressive Outer Space Men, which he served up with Colorforms back in 1968! This lineage of creativity is enriched by each generation, and watching the Four Horsemen (the masters) add to it all with their revival of the OSM this year has brought a lot of things full circle. In a time where there are no Microman or Micronauts figures on the market, it's awesome to see that their collective influence has not been lost.

I truly owe so much to the incredible toy lines that have come before us, that I really wanted to put together a simple, fun release that brings us back to the days of finding a brand new figure on the shelves. Before Action Figure Digest, before Lee's, before the glory of the Internet. Just walking into a store and discovering something that made you feel excited as hell to get it. Hopefully we at least got close. This wave is dedicated to the creative people who are part of this cycle.

The most important part of course, being all of you. We hope you guys have fun with the new stuff and we want to thank each and every one of you for an incredibly awesome year. Personally, I could never give enough thanks for being allowed to do this every day with such excellent people.

Note from Marcus: In the spirit of keeping things simple, we have streamlined the the shopping aisles of Glyos- the Buildstation and Founders are now located in the main (and only) store. No more getting Lost in the Supermarket! Also- new Gendrone Chronicles will be posted once the dust settles a bit...

  1. Oh hey, cool new look to the store! Is that the same system Jesse has for his shop? Looks very familiar...

Now I just hope that the clear colourless and GitD stuff will stick around for a little while, and give me a chance to play with some dye.

Thanks again, Matt and the rest of the Onell crew. You guys really make this whole project something more than a toy line.

  5. *deep breath* *exhale* good god... that was too much goodness.. I went pretty far overboard again.. and I tried to be consevative... good heavens.. the sad part is knowing that I still don't have what I'd really want in terms of builds.. not to mention the remorse of only having one (signed) set of both of the exclusive OSM.. my credit card kinda hates me right now...

  6. @JediCreeper: I hear you bro!

I initially put in my "wish list" of quantities on axis joints for builds. Once I recovered from the sticker shock it was a matter of going in a figuring out what I REALLY wanted for builds.

The joint sets I have already convinced me that you really can't have too many of those magical little guys, and they literally give all your old figures and builds a new lease on life!

So yeah, I went way overboard too, but I figure it's for a GREAT cause and better then giving $$$ to a faceless corporation. These are toys made of LOVE.

  7. Thanks Matt! This was my first time actually participating in a drop. It was easy. Hope you sell more joints than a Mexicali cartel today.

  8. I had to stop at a certain amount. I easily could have spent twice and almost did, but I couldn't. I will cherish everything I ordered though.

  11. It's pretty rare that I feel the need to thank somebody for taking my money, but damnit, Matt & Co. (all of you) These toys rock my world, and every time I buy more, I can't wait until I can buy more. Keep loving toys and making toys we love.

  12. Had to pare down my list a bit, but I got basically everything I wanted. In a week or so I may have to make another order, depending on what's left. Can't wait to get to fiddling with all the new GITD goodness.

  13. The cart is picky. I only had my iPhone and it wouldn't add items to cart. I had to beg a coworker to use their laptop. I had trouble then too.

  14. Beg?! You kick that person to the ground and take that laptop defiantly! Doesn't he know this is Glyos time?!?!
    Destroy all in your way!
    Acquire plastic crack!
Let it be cried to the people!
    Let it be done!

  15. I tried but the store doesn't like the OS's I was using. I could click on any button and it absolutely would not add to cart. I had to do this is several orders because the store was so picky. I haven't looked but I bet I racked up $20 in shipping alone. I'm frustrated but am also glad I got what I wanted. iPhone (and a cheap laptop) for the fail. Glyos for the win.

  16. Once more, to Matt and the whole crew, THANK YOU! Although I couldn't swing a clear Goby, I did get some great stuff. Enough to satisfy the craving until next week. Maybe. Great job everyone, and congrats on the MTV #1 spot!
