Esedeth Mobile Patrol

Following the fateful events that took place on Block Base Cerberus, the deactivated remains of Argen were quickly brought before Glyaxia Command to be dismantled and analyzed.

After an extreme combined effort by the same coalition that had created the Glyarmor, the fallen Gendrone leader's powerful data defenses were finally broken down. This action not only revealed more insight into the Villser Virus, but also unlocked the lost secret plans from the Old War that Argen had discovered within the Sendollest Buildstation.

Within a short time, Glyaxia Command put the information gained from the defeat of Argen into action, reactivating and continuing the development of the long forgotten Old War technology for its own gain.

Soon, the same powerful core mechanical designs that Argen had used to create the Gendrone Force Defender were not only replicated but also repurposed for the production of new super charged Variable Reflex Drivers, manufactured specifically to fortify the different divisions under the direct control of Glyaxia Command.

Of these specialized divisions, the Esedeth Mobile Patrol was the first to employ the recovered Old War technology.

Located on the harsh desert world of Esedeth and serving under the watchful eye of Commander Awken, the Esedeth Mobile Patrol was created to guard the mysterious ancient ruins found scattered across the surface of the remote planet. With valuable artifacts being unearthed on a regular basis, EMP soldiers found themselves endlessly engaged in combat with a variety of scoundrels, pirates and trappers from all across the System.

Now reinforced with superior defensive capabilities, the Esedeth Mobile Patrol unknowingly supplies Glyaxia Command with the perfect stage for their latest machinations.

  1. All of this looks so great! I'm always drawn to the more Real Type releases and this is just too dang good. Those Roboforce kits are just amazing and the paint apps on the figures are stunning. I can't wait to buy these up!

    1. Thanks! This wave is a direct love letter to the Real Type aesthetic, 1000%. The inspiration comes specifically from the Microman Remodeling Project, MSV Gundam (again!) and the old classic Capcom video game Hyper Dyne Side Arms, which was basically a MSV Gundam rip. More than a little of Irem's GunForce 2 (Geo Storm) also scrapped into the mix!

  2. I almost can't even process how amazing this Esedeth drop looks. It has everything I could ever want! Glyan's with Glyarmor, Robo Force, Sarvos. And the colorway... I think I'm in love! Matt, you've done it again.

    1. Thanks George! I was hoping that you in particular would enjoy this wave, especially with the heavy armored Glyans! There are some little surprises that you may appreciate when they pop up...

  5. So Argen's out of commission for now, huh? And Glyaxia Command is back to its old tricks again? Wonder what will happen to the Gendrones now...

That being said, the new paint masks on the armor, the Glyans, the Axis Joint set, and the Buildman are all fantastic, and the armor on the Glyan body looks appropriately beefy. But those VRDs, though...please tell me that we're going to see more of those builds. They just look classic.

    1. Thanks Roy!

Been waiting for some time to share those VRD builds. One of the prime goals when designing and building the Robo Force Kit at the shop with Ron was hiding various Rechlen and Aves style Trapping Rigs.

The line work across all the RF parts (and the new Zeroid which we also made together) is patterned directly after the old R&A mechanics, but imagined as the clean, default factory rollout version -before years and years of service and personal customization.

The other big aspect was that all the rig style builds had to be contained.

Through the use of their "blaster" (a type of Charge Arm similar to those found in Gear's Edge) set to "key" mode, a Glyan can interface and activate a standard VRD, configuring the design based on the information contained in the Glyan Blaster.

The fun part is discovering how the Glyan can connect with the VRD through the use of that little blaster key. It really keeps them firmly in place and allows for some rule bending when coming up with contained builds.

  6. Kind of a shame that after all that build up Argen ended up going out like a punk. Either that or he had a serious tactical lapse. Or there's more than meets the eye...(TM)

    1. Just remember that Argen started to really comprehend the big picture during his evolution.

Perhaps he discovered something more than just Old War tech on Sendollest...

    2. I dig that he saw he was the reincarnation of ultimate Eldritch horror. It just seems weird that he'd find that out, run over to his old friend's heavily secured base, and then (as far as we know) get himself killed.
I like the idea of Glyaxia finding this "awesome tech" and rubbing the bottle to release That Which We Know, though.

  7. Those are some mean looking Glyans! I'm on board for at least one of those.

  8. Dammit, Matt! Just... dammit. Those Real Type colors always suck me in. How does the new tan compare to the Trader Crayboth from last January? (Has it been a year already? Yipes!)

  9. I absolutely love these releases with a strong theme and a good chunk of lore attached. The glyans and Commander Awken look incredible, and the VRDs are blowing my mind. I don't know how you continue to squeeze more and more creativity out of the Robot Force sets!

  10. I doubt I can participate in this wave (pretty much broke at this point) but I have to say that it looks awesome! The beige with dark grey and dark orange highlights just looks awesome.

  11. WOW. Awesome colors Matt, I'm really digging the real type colorway for this release. When I opened the page and saw the first picture I smiled and said "Now that's what I've been waiting for.". Even though I was 29 when the Buildman came out, I consider myself to have "grown up" with that toy so seeing it finally released in an opaque colorway again like it was all those years ago, really takes me back. That figure was my go-to for everything back then, so psyched for this wave.

The Glyans do look awesome in the Glyarmor, I much prefer their silhouette this way then how they normally look, and the Robo Force colors and builds look epic too, nicely done sir!

  12. This kicks the year off to a great start!!!! There was a line I saw when I was living in Japan called Machine Krieger, this totally reminds me of this line mixed with Real Type Gundam and some Votoms as well. Still amazes me the new builds that can be done from the Robo Force kit and it's what, almost 3 years old!!!

  13. As a Gundam fan, I love any homages you can churn out. Maybe someday we can see Glyarmors with colors inspired by the RGM-79 (similar visor)? Subsequent GM colors (GM II AEUG, Cold District, Light Armor, Sniper Custom, Memo, etc...) would be nice.
Also... Crossing my fingers for Gobon soon if not tomorrow.
