Claw Stalker and Concept Challenge

Argen studied the creepy Claw Stalkers deep down in the dark caverns of the Planet Reydurra, adapting his structure in an effort to duplicate their incredible natural climbing abilities.

Though some of these Contained Builds have been floating around here for a bit, I thought it would be fun to render a few new conceptual drawings of the creatures that I imagine these builds are based on.

I'll attempt to pop up a fresh sketch with each specific build as we lead up to the release tonight, my stupid lingering sickness permitting!

  1. Love seeing this stuff Matt! Your style is so unique and otherworldly. My kids want to know why there's no book of this stuff? They would so be all over that, I mean really though, who wouldn't? Love that green, looking forward to the drop!

    1. Thanks Robert! Maybe this year we'll put a small booklet together of some stuff.

Speaking of printing, we really want to get the collected works of old Ralpho finally piled into a book in 2014. The problem is that it just keeps growing with each passing year!

  2. I'd seriously love a book with all of these sketches and concepts in it.

A question about the buildmen if Argen is getting his axis technology from Phanost does that mean Jorvannic from the Hades Force is as well?

    1. Thanks John! I'm grateful that you still like to look at my sketch disasters!

Argen did not receive Axis Tech from Phanost, that discovery was made by Argen during an incident at Point Lannoc (detailed in the story for The Gendrone Chronicles Part 2). However, Phanost did teach Argen new and improved ways to harness the POWER of Axis Tech...

  3. Nothing really new to add to the previous two comments, other than a third voice to the chorus of "please put out a sketchbook!"

This is also just a really great build. There's just a really satisfying look to it that can't be put into words.

  4. The art for this build is pretty awesome. It kind of reminds me of some sort of Crayboth evolution.
