Task Force Volkriun Returns

To celebrate our 5th year anniversary making full production Glyos, we have some fun stuff in store for the upcoming drop, which will be next Friday, July 27th at 9:30 PM EDT.

First up, Task Force Volkriun returns, almost exactly one year since its last release. To add some spice, a secondary color has been added (Volkriun Commandos), as well as a full assortment of vinyl to match. Every one of the PVC molds have also returned to action, so that means ol' Gobon is back (in both colors)!

The next bit of news is that we will see the return of some story content (beyond the usual photos and blurbs)! Marcus and I have been working very hard on an all new story that should throw some curveballs you may want to swing at. We're super psyched to show this thing to you guys!

There will be some big surprises the night of the actual drop, ranging from new figures to additional content that has also been cooking for a bit. This will be one of the bigger drops of 2012 for us, so all kinds of craziness is being prepared.

I personally love the Pappysoup MT green, and have been kind of dying to finally bring it back. The secondary color looks a bit like Lorcassic green in the above photos, but it's an entirely different hue. To try and make this an even more cohesive building wave, all of the "visors" are painted the same PMS 374C throughout the entire assortment, on both PVC colors. I've been building with this new wave, and having the visors match adds such a neat unity to the final constructions, something that up until now we really haven't explored before. I hope you guys like it.

The full list for the drop will be up tomorrow in the early evening, along with some more pics.

I'm pretty excited for this one!

    1. Thanks Chris! I think of you and Pappy when I see these colors, as they are a dedication to what you guys have done for our country.

We tried to make the Pappysoup green look authentic!

    3. Ah yes that's right, I'd almost forgotten. It's Beth & I's 5-year dating anniversary today. Actually, now that I think of it, we started dating on Saturday July 21st 2007 so this year is the 1st time our anniversary is on a Saturday again. Congrats to you & Michelle for 10 years of marriage & here's to 10 more! :-D

  5. Ohhohohoho...you sneaky sneaky man you. These greens are beautiful Matt, no wait- they're GORGEOUS. I love green too so this wave is just 100% pure win for me.

I remember the drop last year, the Glyans, Axis joints & I think the Rigs flew out of the store as if they'd been teleported away. I hope this drop will stick around a little longer as I totally want to snag a LOT of stuff to build with. Not alot of viynl, at least a Rig & maybe a Block or two, this is going to be a heavy PVC drop for me this time. My Glyos bins are running low so this drop fits the bill nicely. I have to re-check my funds & do some math, but I know this will be a very large purchase for me & Beth (she'll flip when she sees those little green crayboth).

I literately can not wait for next Friday, this is going to be one flippin' amazing drop and I'm very curious to see what you & Marcus have been cooking up. Matt you've truly outdone yourself this time, feedback & kudos to you sir! ^_^ *claps*

    1. Thanks Chris, you and I are green junkies! I wish I could do literally every hue of green.

I imagine that these colors will make good fodder for your latest upgrade kit. That's going to be a very cool set when you finish it!

    2. Oh I agree 100%. This drop though covers 2 very good green hue's. Now we just need to tap into the Halos Buildman dark green for phase arms & axis joints. LoL, at some point I imagine you doing a mini-drop that's just called "Greens" and has all the other hues of green you haven't gotten to yet.

I'd still love to see a Buildstation in the Roy G. Biv (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo & Violet) colors. I always find I need more colors for building and having a selection like that would be awesome.

Yes these greens would go nicely with it, although plans have been changed slightly. I'll send you the e-mail. To sum-up it's not it's time just yet, BUT something else is replacing it that I've wanted to do for a very long time.

*looks at all the Glyos blog readers reading this post* Umm...nothing is going on at all. Look, a distraction! *points and runs away while you look where he pointed*

  7. Matt, this is crazy. Only a few days after my birthday, there's going to be the new drop, and while it's more of a military theme, it's not too big of a stretch to see this color scheme as befitting wilderness explorers, maybe even field researchers for the ZED crew. That's what I love about this line: it's not just the building aspect that lets a person play around, but even with a Passcode, it's a line meant to be interpreted however a person wants.

That being said, I can't wait to see how you'll tell the story of the Volkriun team, along with whoever else might accompany them. You're not going to go back to the Sarvos-killing, though, are you?

    1. I appreciate the good words, Roy! The colors have their basis in the military, but they also represent the connection to nature that we all have.

Green has so many interesting interpretations; it can be tough and combative looking or absolutely natural and peaceful. I guess that's why I love it so much.

Some of these ideas are at play with the content for next week's drop.

We'll see if this Sarvos is left standing once the fog clears...

  8. Really? You just had to kick out another wallet-smashing drop? Egads, should have seen this coming, what with you visiting Pappas and all. Perfect colorway for a Mobile Conversion Tank of my own. (And, yes, I see the Crayboth in there.)

    1. Sorry to add on to my own post, but within seconds I realized I'll be building all my Cray' variations in this color.
...oh, it's going to be a long week of wishlist armies getting bigger and bigger. :oP

    2. (and again. Can you tell I'm just skimming the text in my excitement?)
Glad to see Gobon back, I missed him last drop. But it's aonther "egads!" -- Gobons in olive drab? Those guys are going to fly out of stock.
You know what we need now? MT Green wheel sets!

    3. Ha! I love your process Cappy! I hope you like the surprises that are in store, they should pack a punch (or four)

There will be wheels, as a particular Lost Wave is finally set to "roll" out.

    4. Oh, if that means what I think it does, it's been a long, long wait.

  9. this is gonna be one of the larger orders i place! cant wait to start building tiny robots. the colors in this drop will look great with a lot of the past waves, especially the zed greys. natural colors look great together, no matter how different. hope i can afford the vinyl too!
